Ibara on the PS2 - fair price ??????

Post by jochen »

I have the chance to sell my PS2-version of Ibara ( used but good / near mint
condition ) to a good friend of mine. Looking on ebay some sellers want
prices like 170 to 300 dollars. Obviously some prices on ebay are ...
"higher than usual".
My friend who often helped me with my shmup-hobby asked me for a
"fair price". So .... is Ibara really hard to get and for that prices has
it been sold in the near past.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Jochen.

P.S: If I sell this game it goes to my friend. So don´t send any offers to
me. It would waste your and mine time. Thanks again.

It got so expensive? Maybe I should sell out mine as well, haven't touched it in months.
If you only want to sell it to a friend, why not just tell him the situation and ask what's it worth for him?

By the way, used copies are selling for 90-200$ on Amazon Japan (not shipped overseas though)

Well since this is your friend, who got you into the hobby, and you want to sell it to him for a "fair" price, I'd say the price you originally paid for it is "fair" to sell to him, since you don't plan to profit off your friend. Otherwise, if you mean fair as in fair market value, which can fluctuate greatly over time, then there is nothing unusual about watching closed ebay auction prices (not $300 BIN auctions that do not sell), which are your best indicators, then discount from there based on how much of a friend this person really is to you. Here is one auction going on right now, ending in 5 days.

70 US dollars is a fair price and not a penny more, if he's your friend

I'm going with Dave K.

What you paid for it - don't profit off your friend.

I think I paid somewhere between $80-90 from someone on the forum here about a year ago. That's about as fair as it gets from what I have seen.

That's a very friendly price if it was a truly good condition copy :)
