Do Sega Dreamcast NTSC RGB SCART cables exist?

Post by Rock Man »

I'm trying to find one for my HDMI converter, thus far all the ones I've seen are euro. Did Sega make any or would I have to invest in a custom type? If so please point me in the direction of a recommended seller.

There are no original DC RGB cables with japanese Scart (21pin) pinout, but that's probably not what you're asking. You can use any european RGB cable on your NTSC machine - nothing to worry about there.

I've got one of those 3rd party DC Japanese RGB cables from tech god Matt Ross back in the day...works like a charm. Works just fine with fellow shmupper viletim's Scart to Jamma adapter...looks great running on a 15kHz low-res RGB monitor running in 480i mode though. Of course, there are a few DC games that won't display in Japanese RGB/Euro Scart nor any DC VGA Box support either.

Thanks guys, you've been VERY helpful. Think I'll invest in a 3rd party RGB SCART like the first poster said. But knowing euro SCARTS work on both NTSC and PAL machines makes me all the more knowledgeable about this stuff. :)

Assuming all goes well, my ultimate entertainment and all convenience set up will show the fruits of my labor shortly... I'll have you guys to thank.
