space bomber / space bomber version b , the differences?

I recently picked up a pcb of space bomber and when i received it in the mail
it was the version B.
does anyone know the difference between the reg version and version b?

Version A has never been dumped, I presume it was recalled. This was the case with "Lode Runner - the Dig Fight", luckily we found one of those in the back of some warehouse somewhere.

Both versions of Lode Runner are emulated in MAME. Version A had some really tough levels and you had very little time to complete them (if you did like 3 mistakes you wouldn't have enough time to reach the end of the game). In Version B many of those levels were removed and you were given much more time. Overall it was a big improvement.

There likely was an A version, perhaps used for location testing or in a more limited run - certainly not export (since it doesn't display the 'ver B' graphic when set to other regions iirc). I imagine they did a good job of recalling them. It's not been dumped.

The A version was definitely in japanese arcades at least for a month, because Arcadia has kept track of scores for this version at that time.

EDIT: oxtsu lists ver. A as released in july of '98 and ver. B as released in october '98. I wonder what has been wrong with ver. A...
