That damn boss rapes me every time. I'd love to see how it's done.

Okay, how did I do it.
There's a trick... trying to remember. Basically it gets harder at the 2nd half, right? Once he starts shooting the bullets out (from top to bottom in clockwise and counter clockwise at the same time) don't jump up the platforms. Just wait at the bottom... it's a shitload easier to dodge them on the ground. When he comes down, then unload on that little nipple you have to hit.

For the parts inbetween... you just have to get the hang of them. They're not too hard w/ some practice.

That's the thing, I am absolutely awful at this boss, I'm unsure of the hit detection on the lazers (it seems like at least part of the tails will not hurt you) and I rarely even make it to the burning/damaged boss form.

None of the FAQs on gamefaqs go into enough detail... I'm completely stumped, and I'd like to move on and open up the dungeon and finish rescuing everyone and getting all the cards, etc, but I can't beat this boss no matter what!

I've dropped hours into trying, continuing against him for a half hour at a time, but it's futile and starting to be irritating instead of fun.

Otherwise, damn good game! Not quite as good as AstroBoy was, but a game I have no regrets buying at full price.

If I remember, you can kill him before he starts the mass laser spreads if you can keep on him enough.

I'm having a hard time remembering all the forms. But I remember staying on the upper left platform while he was shooting the arcing balls (or something like that???) and constantly shooting him while up there.

I've almost got it down now, but still can't quite kill it.

It helped enormously to turn on autofire in the options. Now I can focus on my position instead of wildly hitting the trigger button.

I get him to start burning but then he does that move where he shoots a rapid stream of bullets that spreads out and hits everywhere on the screen. How the hell do you dodge this? It kills me every time.

I've realized that one doesn't need to clear Stage 5 in a life to unlock the dungeon; one just needs to clear the stage from the moment one picks up the Dungeon card.

this is proving to be way more difficult than I imagined.

are any of the cards in Stage 5 more worth my while to get first? anything that specifically will make it easier for me to beat Stage 5 repeatedly? For example, is the Flak Jacket really useful?

Should I just put this aside for now and pick up something else, like Advanced Guardian Heroes perhaps?
