Another cool South Korean gangster film worth checking out is "A Bittersweet Life" that came out back in 2005. The eventual gun battle showdown scene with the main character (a hitman working for a gangster boss) is legendary and very well choregraphed/executed. It's on par with Brian DePalma's 1983 remake of Scarface with it's anti-climatic gun battle showdown. Even during the ending credits, the hitman shadow-boxing with his reflection is interesting. The overall pacing is quite good and there is never a dull moment despite the many different characters introduced throughout this film (and what happens to them later on). What begins as an associate/hitman's very simple task asked of his boss becomes an even bigger issue towards the eventual conclusion of the film. How is it resolved? Watch it and find out.
