Help with XRGB2 PSU
Ok,
So I just bought this xrgb2 without a power supply, and figured it would be an easy item to track down. I took it to Radio Shack and asked if they had a Universal PSU that would fit the thing, and the guy basically laughed me out of the store saying that they dont carry DC wall plugs. Anyone who has one of these that could help shed a little light on this?
Thanks

Re: Help with XRGB2 PSU
An XRGB-2 A/C adpater is rated at 100v-240v A/C @ 0.5 amps max input and will output at +12v @ 0.8 amps. If you use it on USA 120v A/C, it'll get quite warm if used for more than several hours continously. What did you end up paying for it minus the crucial & essential A/C adapter needed to power it up? Plus it's built smaller than a typical USA region A/C adapter anyways (which are rather big and bulky in size and weight).
Sounds like the salesguys at the local Radio Shack don't know what they're talking about.

Re: Help with XRGB2 PSU
I paid $60 for the unit, which I thought was a pretty good deal.
I ended up purchasing this
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 3731wt_982
I was told this would suit the unit well. If not, any chance you could point me in the right direction?
Thanks

Re: Help with XRGB2 PSU
I had the same problem. You need an ac/dc adapter with a 12v/1000mA output, something like this (if youre in the UK) if youre in US or somewhere youll need a 110v version )(this is a 240v version for UK use) :

plus you may also need to use some sort of adapter/pin converter thingy to fit the xrgb power input, as it seems to not be a standard size

Re: Help with XRGB2 PSU
That adapter thingy you need to use that psu i mentioned is actually a 2.1mm to 2.5mm dc jack adapter :

Re: Help with XRGB2 PSU
Thanks for the input guys. That plug would work if I could find a adapter that coverts 220 to 110 I would assume?
Anyone in the US have any luck finding a replacement at radioshack? I would love to go back there and show this dipshit sales clerk up.

Re: Help with XRGB2 PSU
Just get a 2-pin US-type one. Im sure theyll sell them on ebay if you look. just make sure it outputs 12v/1A(1A=1000mA) DC.
EDIT : heres a US one from the same seller

Re: Help with XRGB2 PSU
no probs, and as i mentioned before just make sure you get a dc jack adapter (2.1mm to 2.5mm) also otherwise the plug wont fit your xrgb2

Re: Help with XRGB2 PSU
The power supply that came with my XRGB2 is made by Go Forward Enterprises and looks like those shown here:

Model NP12-1S1210
Output is DC 12V 1A

Re: Help with XRGB2 PSU
I ended up using the specs that DC posted and returned to the same radio shack. Walked out with a power supply, I just wish the same moron who told me they didn't have them was working today..haha.
Anyway, I have the XRGB2 up and running. The power button is a little touchy, the display is messed up unless the power button is held in or hits a sweet spot, but its nothing an elastic didn't fix for the time being! Now off to get some RGB cables and the JP to Scart converter!
Thanks for all the help with this folks, its much appreciated!
