Xbox 360 Shooting Festa (Japan)

Post by postman »

Check out the festivities:

http://www.xbox.com/ja-JP/event/shootin ... efault.htm

Looks like sales on live shmups, mention of ESPGaluda 2, it's own devoted web page.......

Man, I wish they would do something like that here in the states

Edit: Engrished it up - that is if it was meant to be fiesta....festa sounds Japanese

Isn't it just shooting festa?
(lol, does somebody remember this awesome quote from Frederik? ^^)

They have events on shooting games here. Remember the Halo 3 ODST Truck that went everywhere? :P

It looks like you can now download Shooting Love 200X, along with Raiden IV and Senko no Ronde rev x, from Xbox Live, interesting :)

Its all on games on demand, which is a real PITA and not worth it imo as it requires a japanese IP and/or credit card

Looks like they'll have some new game announcement(s) there. I'm so guessing that new Cave 360 game will be announced in next week's Famitsu if not on Cave Matsuri. Or they'll show Guwange XBLA.

*Festa is italian for party, no?

Well... if you go through all this hassle, will it work on any region machine?

Damn it. I wish I live in Japan. I just hope that we get some new titles in there, and finally we'll have a real look to the ketsui port.
Only 10 days ahead, can't wait for the good news.

I don't believe so, but might wanna check the Guide to Japanese 360 thread to be sure. Else I think you'd hear of at least some people playing what they had on the Japanese GOD on a pal or ntsc-u machine.

if you overcome the ip-block, xbla games work on every machine. So just set up a VPN-Connection like OpenVPN etc.
€: Oh sry didn't see the games on demand. Dunno if it's working with them.

That's exactly the point.
But from what i understand the GOD-containers consist of an actual image of the game,
and the default .xex file from the image is region locked so i _suppose_ it shouldn't work.
...glad that i have my JTAGed console, so i can patch the .xex to remove the region lock
But i could be wrong, i have never had an actual GOD-file to inspect, only the ones i generated from standard nxe hdd installs.

People living in Japan have reported being able to download games from the American Games on Demand marketplace with no problem. They said that at first, it was blocked, but recently they worked. I'm not sure if it has something to do if a game is region-free or something. I haven't tried it myself, and I have no idea if it's something unique to the American marketplace.

Getting my info from here: http://www.gaijingamers.com/showthread.php?t=1886

Anyway, I'm going to try and go to this event.

i think the general consensus is, noone has actually tried, and due to the cost involved, and the chance it might not work, youre best off purchasing a hard copy of the game :!:

That looks pretty fucking cool. They're showing off RayStorm HD, Senko no Ronde DUO, KOF Sky Stage, and Ketsui 360. :(

And it says the release date of Senko no Ronde DUO for 360 has been pushed up to April. WHAT THE HELL IS WITH APRIL. Now Senko no Ronde DUO, No More Heroes, Ketsui, Splinter Cell Conviction, Red Dead Redemption, Mega Man 10, Super Street Fighter 4, Final Fight XBLA, and Agarest War US version are all coming out in April. Fuck life.

Fuck Agarest, complete joke of a game and SRPG's are one of my favorite type of games, but just nothing of value with this title. I wonder what "worth" people find with it  But a good nod to all the other games actually worth waiting for.

*Hopefully we get some good media from this event. I want more Ketsui footage!

I fairly like the game, but I already have the 360 JP version anyway, I'll probably just buy the LE and keep the extra stuff and sell the game on eBay. Aksys bastardized the shit out of the game script anyway and has awful English voice-overs, so no way in hell I'll be playing it.

The page says it will. Its not really a shmup though, more of a flight sim shooter. I'd imagine the transition from arcade machine with big ass flight controls to console might be a little rough, but we'll have to wait and see.

I didn't want to upset you but the word sim doesn't fit with that kind of games for sure. IMO it is like saying that the new out run is a racer sim.
After Burner Climax is the same old formula used in Space Harrier but with updated graphics, that is all.

Ah, gotcha, I've never really cared much for the series.

I wouldn't either if I thought it was a flight sim.
