Most poeple get the game from Play-Asia, so smaller shops have slighty harder times selling the game. About the budget, game development is more expensive then you expect. I also now how good my games is, thanks.

I bought 20 limited editions from you. The game is "so good" that I still have 17 copies left after all this time!
If you don't have a shop you surely must be retarded or something.
Sucks for you that it didn't reach Last Hope LE prices, eh?

yeah, not a good idea to "invest" in video games. mostly they will be worth peanuts after not too long. you should have put the money into stocks and shares instead, which have more chance of increasing in value than games.

That was the perfect time to invest in just about anything really. Things have really climbed since that time. Even a 50% return since Dux's release is pretty average.

Normally wholeseller ask me to get sales discount, so they can sell the game for the same pricing as I do, and still make profit from it. The Einstein here bought them regulary from the shop, instead of contacting me to ge a discount, for the full price and can't even tax free them. But I don't see why it's so hard to sell the DUX LE, even the regular one still does fine. I'm sure I can sell 17pcs. Within a short time w/o any issues.

I still can't see where you take the confidence to attack RHE in such a rude manner. Alright, the game contains a few bugs - but these hard words of yours don't seem to be motivated only by this issue at all. You are trying to compensate your disappointment about your short-sighted investment by behaving like an asshole and that's not a mature and grown up way to behave.

You wanted to make profit, this idea was based on nothing but some weird theory that it's limited and thus has to increase in value. It's homebrew and no Neo Geo port, nobody told you that? You don't seem too familiar with the collector's market, otherwise you'd figured the consequence. Spending 800 euros on bizarre assumptions, well, your money that is. But don't act like a smartass in here criticizing RHE in an inacceptable manner, I guess nobody here believes you would behave the same way if you were standing in front of him.
It's premature rant, wake up man.

elmagicochrisg, you say you bought extra copies to sell for profit, then say you don't want to finagle people for your personal gain... you complain a whole bunch and then say you aren't the type to go whining... you invest in something that there is such a small market for while knowing that the game can just be pirated and played for free... okay, so I laughed a bit about the vasaline

Just think about this for a minute: few people play shmups, even less play horis, even less care about a system that basically died close to 10 years ago, even less are interested in unofficial releases for said system, even less are going to get it from an indirect private seller... etc... and this is the kind of situation you expect to make easy money from??? We've all done stupid crap before bro, but WTF?!

Anyway, I'm going to order LH:PB and DUX next week so I can see what all the fuss is about

Hopefully this is your way of saying "it was completely retarded of me to attempt to artificially inflate prices for the market that I claim to love as a hobby and I will not be doing such a thing in the future." If it were easy, everybody would be doing it. It fucked up the comic book industry as a hobby, it would fuck up this one as well. Thankfully, for good or ill, video games are an extremely recyclable resource. Regardless of whether you and your friends or even an entire throng of gamers across the internet do not share, copy, emulate and modify existing games, the creators, publishers and IP owners will create sequels, remakes, or even just outright classic editions identical or nearly-so of the original games which has the effect of decimating any value that you or a potential buyer will hold upon the real McCoy's dollar figure.

Buy games that you love, and play them. Pass them on if you must to sustain new titles for yourself. Don't be a dick and constrict the fandom you claim to speak for. And absolutely do not start a business. Of any kind. You're terrible at it.

That's what I hate most about the whole situation. People that just look at our small hobby as an investment.
I'm a student, I don't have much money and I usually sell games after I've played them to buy newer ones. I don't want to dl games illegally, because I want the producer to get something back when they're offering me a product. Inflated prices are useless for the company and usually only come up after a game has already sold out. Collectors get crazy and hurt themselves with even higher prices and bidwars and the only winning guy is some asshole behind it all making maybe 500€ profit and destroying a whole market he doesn't care about at all.
Awesome. :?

just my 2p worth, the maker of this game (RHE?) should decide whether what he makes is a professional-grade game or homebrew, and he should charge accordingly. i dont know how much DUX sold for, but if it was 50 euros per pc, then i would say this is a pro-developed game and he has an obligation to make available a fixed version of the game to the original buyers for free. probably best way to do this IMO is to post on the games official website that an updated disc is available to people who send back their original disc to the maker. this would limit the cost of producing discs as a lot of people probably wouldnt bother returning their game. if he only charged say 20 euros per game, then you could say it is a budget/home brew game and a few bugs can be acceptable. what sort of developer is RHE? Pro or home-brew?

The regular edition costs exactly 20 Euros:
http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-x-4 ... -31fr.html

And as far as I know, RHE developed the game all alone, apart from some artworks maybe. The scoring bug still is probably very annoying for score players, but all I can do is to agree on Plasmo's opinion: Who the fuck plays it on score? It's like there were 100 shooter newbies complaining that there's a score-bug in Ketsui's 2nd Loop that makes it impossible to see doom - it's just not relevant for most people anyway, yet they take it for a reason to rant all the time! :P
