Hi... I found this forum while looking for a place to post ideas about games I'd like to see. I'm a new Dad with more ideas than skills/resources and definitely TIME! I spent a lot of the last year (while waiting for the new arrival) working on Blast Works projects, often collaborating with Rozyrg and others over there.
Shmups have always been my favorite kind of game, and given the choice I'll always put my quarters into a Strikers 1945 II cabinet instead of the big jackpot slot machine right next to it. I like the instant accessible action the genre provides, and the fact that over the years, the 2D Shmups have generally been the prettiest games on most home consoles. I'm just realizing some of the deeper play mechanics involved, as my goal has always been just to survive, not to get a high score. Gamecube Ikaruga has been very educational!
So I just wanted to introduce myself before I start (occasionally) posting an idea over at the Development forum, hoping for some discussion to hammer concepts into working shape, or for a programmer to pick up the idea and run with it. Thanks!

Greetings, Starfighter. You have been recruited by the Star League to defend the frontier against Xur and the Ko-Dan armada.
Hope your stay is pleasant. Welcome to the ranks.
