Quick Raizing Medal question

Post by mirkvid »

Sorry if a little OT,

Does anyone know how the medals in Raizing games are spawned? Do they spawn when you destroy every enemy in a group/formation, or do specific enemies create medals when they die?

I think it kinda depends on the game...I know in Battle Garegga there's a set sequence for how enemies drop items, medals included (it's in the ST someplace) - in Brave Blade I think it's more a matter of certain enemies/formations that always drop 'em. Not sure about the rest of the catalog...

In Battle Garegga, every fifth flying enemy you destroy will drop an item. The order of items cycles according to this list: small shot powerup, medal, small shot powerup, medal, option. This list of five items repeats five times; on the sixth cycle, the option item is replaced by a large shot powerup.

Note that the house-crushing tanks in stage two are considered to be flying enemies if destroyed while in the process of crushing the houses (their treads lift up, making them "airborne"). Also note that airplanes parked on the ground count as flying enemies.

Medals can also be found by destroying scenery.

I might remember incorrectly, but I think that those are special cases - I think that if you blast them while in mid-rollover, they always give up a medal, instead of following the overall item-drop order.

At least in Garegga, Bakraid, and Batrider, they drop from enemies in the type of item-cycle way explained above. Also, destructible scenery often holds hidden medals.

In Brave Blade, it's every OTHER enemy destroyed if you constantly use your melee attack.

Ah yes, I had forgotten that. Thank you for correcting me.

There are also certain larger flying enemies that will drop more medals if destroyed in the proper manner. For example, the gun blimp at the beginning of stage two and the twin-cannon planes at the end of stage two can be milked for more medals by destroying the turrets or wings before killing the core.

The title of this thread is a bit humorous. It will take a bit of digging around in the strategy threads. There are no quick answers like: "Collect it when it flashes."
