pc engine emulator for psp

Post by charliechong »

alreet i used to be called prinsecharlie on the old board but i haven't had internet access for a while so i've only just got to registering .
I tried searching to see if anyone had mentioned about pcep 0.52 for psp but i could't see any sign of topics mentioning it so i thought you'd like to know that you can play most pc engine games on your psp if it has 1.0 firmware i.e one of the first japanese psps that were released.(i think all u.s ones are 1.5)
the program is called pcep 0.52 and is done by psp wiki (i think)
anyway it works really really good for such an early release (full screen, sound and plays a lot of games)

i wont post a link as i'm not sure its allowed(if im allowed i will)
but i'm sure all you people can find it yourselves anyways!!

How do you check the firmware version on your system? Also, I don't think anyone would mind if you posted a link. The forum seems to be pretty lax on that sort of thing these days (used to be quite taboo).

to check your firmware settings
go to system setting then go to system information.
under system software it should say version 1.00

if you have version 1 all you have to do is make a folder on the psp called game once you have enabled usb connection to your computer then make a folder called pcep or whatever within that folder which is where you stick the downloaded emulator file and also where you stick da evil romz.
it would read like this on your computer:\PSP\GAME\PCEP
then you go to memory stick on the game options of your psp and you can select pcep
theres a gameboy color one as well thats pretty good sound etc and also some homebrew shooter test thingie as well with loads of bullets so ill leave links for them too.just repeat the process for any others making a different folder within the game folder.theres loads of others as well but i dont think any have sound yet .lets hope they convert mame !
