UK Microswitches

Post by unitone »

A few months ago I built an arcade stick using the guide on slagcoin and though I never really got round to tarting it up it worked well and I was happy with it. Unfortunately one of the microswitches has gone in the seimitsu LS-32 stick I put in it and I need a replacement switch, but not really having that much knowledge about this stuff I'm not sure what switch to get and also where to get them in the UK.

http://www.gremlinsolutions.co.uk/arcad ... itches.php has microswitches but I really have no idea if these are suitable or not, plus they don't seem to have the long metal arm like the ones in my stick.

If anyone with a bit more knowledge about the subject could point me in the right direction I would be grateful.

you need a new semitsu microswitch pcb for the ls32. it's just a pcb with 4 microswitches attached. not sure if gremlin sell it and can't remember the part no of the top of my head
akihabara shop should sell them tho.. i'm sure cools will pipe up with the relevant info if he sees this thread

also i think there are 2 types of pcb. one with a 5 pin jst connector and the other with 8 pins for grounds and directions

Thanks for the reply but i think its the LS-32-01 with the pcb. When i opened up my plain LS-32 it just has 4 microswitches held in place by the back plate.

Cools just sent me a few but they were a bit rusty on the connection. I put some WD40 on them and they work fine now, for the time being.

I would send you one or two of mine, but to be honest your problem is more likely to be the connections and not the switch. Those things are bullet proof, i've never had one break.

Should just say in case anyone else ever needs these that I think I found a supplier.

They look right, and I'm going to give them a try.

As a side note the five-pin version of the LS-32-01 is marked on the PCB itself as the LS-32-02. The Microswitches that come with that PCB are not made by Seimitsu. I'm not sure of the manufacturer's name, but their logo is an 'M' and the part number is AM59074N or AM59074. I know as I have them in front of me.

I can't read this blog as it's in Japanese, but there's plenty of pics of the microswitches, and you can almost see the mysterious 'M' brand. 'Matsu...' My AM59074N's are exactly the same as those, but with the company name missing.

Not sure about the eight-pin PCB as I've never seen one.

As another note Gremlin Solutions is a great external seller. Andy there is a great help and often sends me a freebie sample button or two with a bigger order. I even got a Seimitsu catalog once, which is great for reference.

EDIT: Spelling and formatting

Thanks again but I don't think it will be necessary.

Also to add to the codes thing:

am51662c5n

16a250vac
thailand

081129q

is what is written on the microswitches in my LS-32.

The manufacturer of the ones with the "M" is Matsushita, aka Panasonic. That "M" is the hopefully-sure sign of it being a Matsushita-brand part. Erm, Panasonic. Or is that National? The world may never know.
