Trizeal and G-Stream G-2020

First, I apologize if there's already such existing topic

Well, I've noticed there's some major similarities between those both games, and here's the list (so far):
-1st stage of G-2020 named 'Cloudy Today', while in Trizeal it's 'Cloudy Today! Again!'. And the stage boss looks similar (huge transport plane carrying a mech thingie (similar like Scarab in Trizeal) in G-2020 and that Scarab thing in Trizeal)
-Similar weapon assortment (wide, laser, missile), although G-2020 version needs to be powered up serperately (limited by power-up bar), while in Trizeal, only requires to transform to use another weapon.
-The same (? I'm unsure...) medalling system
-A similar huge-battleship stage in both games (IMO)

Anybody found more similarities?

I'll have to admit I didn't know that G-Stream G2020 existed until now...

I WILL say that a certain member of this forum who used to frequent, but now rarely posts, has my (1) copy of Trizeal (DC), as I lent it to him nearly four years ago! Even stranger is that he professed to me that he finally played it in TATE mode recently and that he actually asked if I'd sell it to him!

Now, please don't get me wrong - he's a good friend and I have nothing but admiration and respect for him; but, I really, really would like to spin Trizeal in my DC again! I found it to be a more than fairly challenging arcade vert-em-up with adequate graphic layouts. I may have to drive 40 miles to get it back...

Trizeal is by and large a homage to shooting games. G-Stream 2020 is an earlier title by the guy who created Trizeal, so referencing his previous work in Trizeal seems somewhat obvious. There's also stuff from XIIStag in Trizeal. But yeah, there are loads of similarities.

I don't know if Trizeal counts as an official sequel, though.

EDIT: Just watched a replay of the first stage and noticed that the musical theme is the same one as in Trizeal. The stage clear music is identical, too.

Same medaling system, pretty sure the point values are the same too.

the SFX in this game would later be used in XIISTAG and the like...the BGM was done by naoto who did similar work for all of Triangle's games. Really like the tunes as downsampled as they may be.

This is a game I wouldn't mind having the PCB for (heatsinked to all hell and back, of course)

Yes it is. Yet still crappy.
