Gradius Deluxe Pack......

Post by SheSaidDutch »

How rare is the PSX version?

Also how much does it command (go for)?

I don't know the print run... but I see it going for around the US $70 mark usually. The PSX Salamander Deluxe Pack Plus sells for more.

The Saturn one goes for considerably less though. I think I picked mine up for $15 plus shipping (no spine card, but it does have the Vic Viper Papercraft) from one of the Japanese eBay sellers about a year ago.

Wow I knew you could get it far cheaper than the PSX version but wow good deal

I dont have a need for those spine cards myself, would that knock the price down a little?

15's a pretty good price, usually (in my experience) it goes for closer to 30, though still not ridiculously expensive. As far as the spine card goes, most any game without the spine card is cheaper than one with it (in comparable condition otherwise), though whether a copy in the condition/price range you're looking for pops up is largely a matter of luck and patience.

Really? I thought the papercraft was something that was included exclusively with the PSX version?

What is a papercraft? The only extra I found in my psx version is a memory card sticker sheet...

AFAIK it was exclusive to the Saturn version, actually.

Somebody had posted scans of it to the old forum; not sure if they've ever turned up here.

I think it's some kind of paper model, wherein you can cut out the pieces and fold/assemble 'em into a Vic Viper replica.

Well, crud, now I feel like I should've held out for a copy with the paper craft. I could've sworn someone once said it only came with the PSX version; maybe it comes with both but fanboyism has spread rumors trying to give the lead to a certain version.

I've got some scans of the Vic Viper papercraft saved on my computer. Someone asked about them a while ago, and I sent him an email with it. If anyone else wants the scans, PM me.

The papercraft came with the Saturn version; I'm sure of that because it came with mine. :)

I've never heard of the PSX version coming with anything other than the stickers (which didn't come with the Saturn version.)

Scans of both the stickers and the papercraft can be found here. I notice I'm credited for the papercraft, but all I did was send the webmaster a link to the thread on the old forum where the scans were posted.

Turns out I have the papercraft, too, and I didn't know it. :o It was in the manual, which I never bothered to look through until now.

Same here. I just started reading this thread, ran over to my game shelf and checked. There it is! I've had this game for years now and never bothered to even look in the manual.

Thanks, guys!
