Video games seen on Scarborough trip

Post by kennyrh »

Just back from the Scarborough trip . . .good news/bad news as far as arcade machines go. I started at the big arcade beneath The Grand Hotel (Olympia, I think it was called ) and they had some good stuff. Razing Storm and Kirin fropm Namco - Kirin looked like an update of Cyber Cycles. King of the Road and Tuned-R from Sega plus a big sit-in cab i've never heard of called Typhoon from a company called Trio-Tech (?) . . .looked like some sort of compilation.

Sadly, the other half-dozen or so arcades were all fruit machines and redemption shit . . .although i did find Ghost Squad 2 Evolution and an older Nicktoons Racing. There were a few older cabs like Virtua Striker 4, Thrilldrive 2, Time Crisis 2 and a few more dedicated racing cabs. Oh and . . .the usual House of the Dead 4 and Time crisis 4 big-screens.

Highlight of the day, though, was an Outrun 2 sit-down which i've never seen before. Not the SP version which you can find anywhere . . .the original version.

Anyway, I was quite happy with that and if anybody is in Scarborough or nearby then i'd say give it a look. I've seen a lot worse
Shoot, dodge, collect . . .it's the ONLY way to be !!
