Rainbow Islands, Vista and Magic Engine 1.1.3

I just tried playing Rainbow Islands SCD on magic engine on a vista laptop, it used to work fine under xp. now when the "hurry up" sound is heard, the screen goes black, permanently. i can still hear the sound. any ideas?

Looks like CD games dont work too well under Magic engine with vista, i found another japanese pce emu called "ootake" , works perfectly
