Games on Demand (xbox live)
Japan will be getting "Idolmaster" and "Idolmaster Live for you" on their marketplace. Do you think any shmups will come out on "Games on Demand" so that people who do not have a Japanese xbox will be able to enjoy them. Although I wonder if the Japanese region games will be region locked on the marketplace in the way that it was impossible to download Duke Nukem 3D in Japan.

The answer is "probably not", but I'm looking into it. There's a possibility that you'll be able to buy these with JP points, and use them across accounts, but there's also a possibility that they're only accessible on Japanese 360 units. Some games can automatically detect your console, like MvC2, which on mine displays in Japanese despite having the dashboard in English and my locale as NZ.
I'm pretty sure a few other games have done this as well. I know Eternal Sonata (demo), Tales of Vesperia (demo), and Bionic Commando also automatically detect your console and switch the language accordingly. I think Ace Combat 06 did the same. If they aren't locked to consoles, well, all you're getting is those two games and Rumble Roses XX which is meant to be released as well. It would be entirely up to the developer if they want to see their games as virtual downloads.
Thank god for 120gb HDDs.

All the Capcom releases, I think - it's certainly the case with MegaMan 9, along with the others you mentioned.Elixir wrote:I'm pretty sure a few other games have done this as well.

If they follow the idea set by X-Box Originals then the games will still be region-locked. You might be able to download them, but you won't be able to play them.
