New Jap Dreamcast - What Shmups to get?

Hi guys, taking delivery of a NTSC-j Dreamcast on thurs from http://www.videogameimports.com, I was wondering with everybodys knowledge on the forum what would be the best shmups to get??
I have Ikaruga & Gigiwing already, but I was looking at the following....

Triggerheart Excelcia
Gigawing 2
Mars Matrix
Psyvariar 2: The Will to Fabricate (had the PS2 version of this, any differences on DC?)
Shikigami No Shiro 2

Any other recomendations would be helpful, cheers guys!

both G. Rev games are worth getting. both have amazing music and visuals. I'd also get zero wing 2 for just something fun to play. DUX is worth checking out.

From the listed games .personally,only under defeat is fairly worth for wasting your money,while the others are too cliche.

I highly recommend the most outstanding ones,Border down.Anyway, It mostly depend on how wealthy you are.

Get UnderDefeat ,it's one of the greatest shumps on that system, i'd like to recommend Radirgy and Karous too,but i think it's up to your taste that you love Milestone's style or not.

Zero Gunner2 is really pretty looking games,and the difficulty(for the first half) is really friendly too.

Psyvariar 2: The Will to Fabricate is said to be the most "accurate" port since Dreamcast is almost the same hardware as Naomi---and it doesn't have "roll" button which make it really hard for me to play it with standard DC pad.

Gunbird 2 or Under Defeat should be your next game because they have different gameplay compared to the games you already have. Down the line pick up Mars Matrix, Gigawing 2, Zero Gunner 2, and Bangai-o. For me, the rest of the DC shmups out there are a big step down from these (and the ones you have).

Ahn... I think he meant Zero Gunner 2, which is, in fact, the best Psikyo game ever.

Eventually you'll end up getting all of them. There's not so many available, but almost all are of top notch quality and, when applicable, superior to any cross-platform versions available.

Here's what I recommend for DC:

- Zero Gunner 2
- Under Defeat
^ Both of those are fun 2p as well as 1p, but they aren't big on scoring.. imo they are both great survival shmups, and UD has an absolutely ace second loop which you can start from after unlocking it
- Mars Matrix - great scoring system, really intense game.. GigaWing 1 is also worth it if you find yourself enjoying MM
- Ikaruga - OK, you can get this on pretty much any other system, but I still think it's great
- Border Down - Very expensive but nice G-Darius/Metal Black style game

The domestic versions of some of these are probably still a lot cheaper...

psyvariar 2 is cliche? anyway if you have a stick get psyvariar its in a league of its own . Try the milestone games also karous , radirgy and chaos field as there great fun and amazing soundtracks . Trizeal is definitely worth getting also .

Cheers for the recommendations guys, I do have the offiical dreamcast arcade stick for psyvairar 2.
So, i have ordered Zero Gunner 2 & Psyvairar 2.

Got them for 44 & 39 GBP respectively

Just a heads up that psyvariar 2 plays like no other kind of shmup so will undoubtably be a little frustrated at first , definitely check out some videos and ask questions if you need some play advice . enjoy!

Zero Gunner 2 and Border Down are my favorites on the system.

Trizeal is very fun, with an "old school" feel.

Bangai-O is... wait, is it a shmup or a platformer? Either way, it kicks ass.

Under Defeat is awesome, and may surpass Ikaruga as the best-looking shooter on the DC.

Am I the only one who enjoys Triggerheart Exelica? At first I didn't like the anchor mechanism, but once I got the hang of it I found it to be rather fun. A good game to have in your shmups collection for when you fancy something a bit different.

I'm very partial to Border Down and Mars Matrix, and both Gigawings are cheap and quite fun, too.
