Yeah, it looks amazing. We'll have to see how well it's animated though compared to Guilty Gear.

Well, I don't know why you would hold your breath for that.
Have they not brought us nothing but good fighters with fluid animation?
Remember the first Guilty Gear (also released for the PS).

I'm certain the animation will be fine.

My fantasy: In 1.5 years I expect "Guilty Gear VS Hokuten", hopefully, I can see this happen.

Err, Guilty Gear animation tends to be pretty poor actually. Smooth and high-res, sure, but some special attacks just have 2 different art frames, which is just sad. Arc System Works always relied on spazzy special effects to make the game look better than it really is (since the first Guilty Gear) but I'm hoping with the venerable Hokuto no Ken series, they put some more effort in the animation.

Good point, but then again, the moves are very fast, everything is very fast. You never SEE jerky animation in Guilty Gear. And if they disguise it than that is just swell, what isn't known doesn't hurt.

I just hope that it is a ONE on ONE fighting game and not a Double Dragon - clone.

I take it nobody remebers that coin op where you had to punch the pads around the screen. That was excellent, especially where you had to actually do the 'hundred hand' moves.
The biggest unanswered question is where is the money? [1CCS]

Here is larger flyer.

Is this going to be ported onto the PS-2?

The Genesis FOTN was quite nice imo.

I haven't played the rest though. Is there a FOTN emulated by Mame?
I've heard there a JPN SNES version. Anyone know the name?

There were numerous SFC Hokuto no Ken games. They simply continued the numbering from the FC games (1&2 were sidescrollers, 3&4 were RPGs). Hokuto no Ken 5 (that's its actual title BTW) was a crappy RPG. Hokuto no Ken 6&7 were 1-on-1 fighters with atrocious controls.

Well, the playable characters are in:
7 were playable: Kenshiro, Raoh, Toki, Jagi, Shin, Rei, Yuda. There is room for 3 extra characters, so there could only be 10 characters
All 4 from the Hokuto Shinken and 3 from the Nanto Seiken. Seems entirely focused on the first series so I'm guessing Souther is going to be a boss again. I'm guessing Shu will also be in to complete the Nanto squad. Maybe Mamiya for some female representation in an awfully masculine anime series?

Looks good, I've played the GB version and it was ok but I haven't played any others in the FOTN franchise.

Last Battle is awful, one of the most boring Genney games I've ever played. I'd really like to play the Japanese original, what with the exploding heads and all. awesome.

I play Punchmania in the arcade whenever I'm there, it's OK but after awhile I start to break a sweat. it's funny that they had one white guy do all the voices.

NES FOTNS is awesome, don't know why I find it so enticing. Maybe because of the exploding heads and simplistic gameplay. Nonetheless, it's odd that NOA would let this pass their regulations.

The Saturn Hokuto no Ken is pretty awful, I've played it once and that was that. Such a shame the Saturn never got a 3D beat em up like the PS1 did.

Anyone picking up the DS game? It looks like a Casino-Roulette thing going on..ha, the idea sounds awful, but I'm intrigued. Looks interesting to say the least.

Anyone played Black Belt on the SMS? How about the Sega AGES PS2 game?

I played Black Belt years ago. Was little more than the SMS version of Kung Fu if I remember correctly.

As for the Sega Ages game, it's just a remake of the Genesis game, so it probably sucks.
