Noticed about a week ago some distortion while playing on my Egret II. About 3-5 minutes into the game, the monitor displayed a thick line across the screen. Flipped the switch two times and it was working again.
I got sick for about a week and, now that I'm back on my feet again, I fired a different game up today and it happened again. This time maybe only 2 minutes before blanking out, and this time the monitor seems completely off. Also noticed with the new "black canvas" came a loud hissing or buzzing-type sound when I power the cabinet on.
Can anybody confirm this monitor is dead or provide steps for troubleshooting?
--UPDATE!--
It may sound like a capacitor is failing. I haven't checked to see if there are any cap's exploding, but I'll leave it unplugged for now.

Re: Egret II Monitor Issue
Sounds like you would need to remove your monitor chassis board and get it re-capped (meaning the capacitors replaced). Sorry to hear that your Egret II is not at 100% working condition. And when it is up and working, it is quite a beaut to behold. ^_~
Or if you're not a techie-repair type of person, you can consult your local Yellowbook pages and look under the Amusement Vendors section and give some local vending companies a call to see if a service techincian will come out to your place and give the ol' E2 monitor a check and order parts to get it back in tip-top shape again. Of course, you'll be paying for the techincian's time by the hour -- that's a given. It would be helpful to tell the service tech exactly what happened when it was turned on so he or she can get a better understanding of what went wrong. Just like with anything else, parts break down due to old age or the usual "wear 'n' tear" senario. ^_~
Good luck with your getting your E2 cab monitor issue fixed, Ka0tiK.
