Ketsui 360 in trouble
Hey all,
Long time lurker and shmup lover. I was going to post the other day when I heard the Radiant Silvergun OST being use as background music for a news program (I live in Japan), but this seemed like a more important first post. Bad news, but there is hope.
It seems 5pb used the source code for the PS2 version of DOJ without permission, and it has called into question whether Ketsui will appear.
They are being made to rewrite the stolen portions of DOJ and a patch should appear (which is also supposed to fix some things in the game, hopefully the bloody loading).
Cave's Asada stated that while 5pb has the intent to release ketsui, the licensing contract between them is now invalid. He doesn't want to be the one that blocks the fans from being able to play the game, so he is open to renegotiating the contract after 5pb makes amends. At the moment, it is put on hold, but in the future it may become possible to release it.
Arika also received apologies and seems okay with the release, but there are still two issues - making amends and improving the quality of the port.

CAVE porting it themselves sounds too good to be true. I can imagine what the "extra value" gameplay additions could be like.
Ketsui Black Label featuring DDP-DOJ Hypers, bullet cancelling á la MFBL (imagine MFBL amount of bullets and Ketsui point blank to trigger it) and what else? Kakusei?
