it's cel shaded and has a chaining system that combines ikaruga with dodonpachi dai ou jou but without hypers and rank that starts out amazingly high but drops constantly when you get your medal chain really high
and if you graze red bullets while your ship is plaid a mushroom spouts on your ship, your controls reverse, and you get a multiplier bonus
these mushrooms also act as bombs and the mushroom max bonus cranks your score really high as long as you can dodge the spores they drop onto you
release date is not decided yet but it will be on the psn exclusively
usually this kind of thing would spawn dozens of pages of discussion and news on kotaku and stuff, but treasure games generally get ignored

that's only because the 360 is easier to develop for; after they finish it they just covert it to playstation 3 code by copying the code into microsoft word and doing find+replace to swap out 360 code for PS3 code
then they save over the original 360 code word file so they can't release it for 360 : (

Let's try to keep discussion on this confined to one thread if possible.
It's probably better to just ignore the trolling responses...
To be fair, it's not really a case that Treasure has suddenly gone silent; they never really released much info in the first place. I don't remember which interviews, but I seem to recall seeing rumors of this project going on hold to finish Ikaruga, possibly on hold/cancelled to finish Sin & Punishment 2, and then some shady Japanese blog google-translated saying that it was back in development. What the actually status is, who knows?
Here's to seeing Project RS3 someday...
