Did anyone actually play Mega Turrican, Super Turrican or Super Probotector (Contra) III - Alien Rebels on Wii Virtual Console? And which one would be the best in your opinion.
I was addicted to Turrican II on the Amiga but heard that the Wii versions can not achieve the same level (especially in the music department).
Comments are more then welcome.
Platform shooters on Wii Virtual Console
I have not actually played any of those games on Wii, but I can tell you that Mega Turrican and Super Turrican both have excellent music and gameplay, although the music is not up to the standards of the Amiga versions.
Contra III is the best game on that list, of course.

We here shall not rest until we have made a drawing-room of your shaft, and if you do not all finally go down to your doom in patent-leather shoes, then you shall not go at all.
Tough choice.. I love all of 'em.
Granted, I only knew Turrican from the console versions for the longest time (ok, I *still* have no idea how to get WinUAE working.. I swear it's the Rubik's cube of emulators); but however they compare to 'the real thing', they're still easily some of the best of their kind on both systems IMO.
I've already played Contra 3 to death when I was a kid, too.. so all in all, I'd probably give Mega Turrican the slight edge. The loosened up wheel-jumping makes zipping around the stages more fun than in ST, for one thing. The sound quality's not on par with the SNES or Amiga, of course; but I still love it. The song on the junkyard stage in particular.. it just sounds so much meaner!
The Virtual Console is probably the most economical way to get Super Turrican 2 as well. It's great fun too; but I wouldn't recommend it nearly as much as the others.
