The games are region-locked on a per-game basis - some games may be playable in all regions, some playable in only one. Sadly, the 360 ports that have come out so far are mostly Japan-only, so you need to get a japanese console.

I've recently got a Jp 360 and heartily recomend it.

As above, all shooters purchased so far will not work on EU consoles.

You can however, transfer your profile between consoles and add achievements to your gamerscore.

Also, with the recent announcement of Mushimesam Futari. You should really bite the bullet (pun intended) and go for it.

I got mine from Play Asia with no problems whatsoever.

Hi Hibachi,

If you don't mind me asking, did you get any nasty customs charges etc. from PA. I really want to grab a JP 360 but am really low on funds at the mo :(

Yes i did get stung by customs. It £52.11 do be exact.

That was all charges but UPS sent the invoice after I received the goods so you don't have to get the cash together straight away.

I bought an Asian Arcade console as it comes with full UK power supply and then bought a HD from the UK to install the games.

Moved to Hardware.
No matter how good a game is, somebody will always hate it. No matter how bad a game is, somebody will always love it.

i suggest getting a decent size memory card and putting your profile, saves and maybe certain DLC on that. it will make life easier when switching systems as you will likely still do for some titles.

Like Rockband US don't work on the JP system, so i just switch my card as needed. The music is stored on the US HD.

However Soulcalibur works on both systems, so you can put vader on the card and take him from box to box.

Play Asia has a wonderful list of games and their compatibility.
I found it very useful during my own research for a Japanese 360.
