Technically, Resident Evil 4.

Artistically, Resident Evil ("REmake") by far. The dark, forest scenes with crawling insects and moisture in the plants and all.. that is love. Love for the product from its creators.

RE4 looks great, and its a fantastic game too.

The Rogue Squadron games look insanely good but both are a bit crappy.

Fzero GX is pretty nice looking too, nice solid frame rate

Came here to post F-Zero GX too. One of the best games I've seen for it.

That aside, I can't really think of much. My GC didn't get much love, sadly.

What's already been said.

I'll add in Eternal Darkness too, the attention to detail on the models, textures, lighting and animation is stunning. Some levels are close to photorealistic.

I'd add Metroid Prime to that list as well and F-Zero GX.

Metroid Prime and F-Zero GX in 480p are still jawdropping today, when you compare them to the crap on the Wii.

That's special. People usually bash Eternal Darkness because it's N64 roots being quite obvious in the graphics. Awesome game though :)

Anyway. +1 for Rogue squadron.

Resident Evil and RE Zero both have terrific visuals. F-Zero GX also looks pretty good last I saw and runs at a blistering pace. GX is good for what it doesn't do, unlike later Wipeout games in that I feel sick after watching any of those while F-Zero causes none of this.

I too don't understand these f-zero gx bashing Wipeout fanboys.
Wipeout, craps! Should you buy a game called wipeout? no! I dled the demo and it felt like a homebrew java app. (not that there's anything wrong with Java)

I still really like Waverace Blustorm for aesthtic appeal.

I remember seeing the opening screen for the first time & the water effects were amazingly realistic.
Looks good & runs at a fair old lick too.

I'll also add in...

Zelda Windwaker - Gorgeous Cell Shaded animation, still my best looking Zelda game ever

Viewtiful Joe - Again awesome cartoon style that translated really well

Bleach - The only Fighting game I own on my 'Cube, looks very pretty IMO & as good as the cartoon.
Once a battle gets going as well it's fluid & looks great, very colourful

My problem with Wipeout really came ahead when I watched my friend run the PS2 game Wipeout Fusion. I truly felt physically sick after watching for about 5 minutes or so and that basically left a bad stigma from there onward. The earlier games I dabbled in a little starting with Wipeout 3 on PS1 and eventually Wipeout 2097. The issue there is that they seem all too similar to one another until the next generation and by then it's nausea-time. I will say it was an ok series but if anything a bit sluggish and pardon the first two titles not very innovative afterwards.

Back on topic, I agree with soundwave, The Wind Waker does look good and I'd say it's probably my most liked modern Zelda game, heads and tails above the 64 games. Despite all the sailing I think it's terrific and has loads of good atmosphere something I think in my very limited experience that is lacking in OoT.

REmake & RE Zero - easily two of the most beautiful games I ever played.

Ironically they can also be the two ugliest games on GC if played on a HD LCD TV... :?

RE 4: Probably best looking game on the console
Zelda Wind Waker: Cell Shading done at it's finest

Only two really impressive looking games. There are games that look great but these two stand out the most.

Wind Waker. My wife first really got into that game because of the sunrises/sunsets.

I thought Star Fox Adventures looked pretty nice, though I didn't like the way it played.

Resident Evil 4, easily. First time I played it back in the day, my jaw dropped to the floor and despite a couple areas dropping the quality some, no other GC game can beat it. I remember being at my friend's house and this other guy walks in just as I'm going to fight Bitores Mendez. He's like "that looks amazing, what game is it?" and then I say, "Resident Evil 4 for the Gamecube" and he's like " FOR THE GAMECUBE!!!??"

REmake and REzero also look very nice, but they use pre-rendered graphics and CG, so points lost there.

Viewtiful Joe also impressed me very much the first time I played it. It's not an incredible technical feat like RE4 but the art style is awesomeness.

of course impressive is a subjective term, and I'm sure my answer doesn't qualify, but I have to say Kururin Squash! has some of the most pleasing graphics of all the Gamecube titles.

I won't say you're nuts or anything unless you happen to like Mega Man X6.

Most of the stuff I would have said has already been posted above, so I'll just go and add in Killer7 for it's surreal visuals and Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles for it's folk tale feel.

I find this outrageously sad because for many of the Wii's games, it's true. I'm really doubting this is actually because of the Wii's power, it just seems devs today are just lazy.

I think PN03 is a great looking game, and no, not just because of the main character's ass, but because it's extremely stylized and nifty. However, I seem to be (nearly) alone in that regard.

i'm with you, the minimalist look once you get inside is awesome.

Also, it's THE most underated game on the GC. Can be picked up for a bargain bin 480 yen and it's a very very good game. Once you click it's more rhythm based than a pure corridor/room shooter, it really is great.

The first "out in the open" section gave a bad initial impression , but definitely worth getting through.

Also, someone else mentioned Killer 7 which has a very interesting art style indeed :)

Twilight Princes looks incredibly good also in some areas. Some parts are simple looking like the characters but the lighting and environments looks fantastic in sometimes.

I can be a sucker for really super glowy bloom lighting though.

Metal Gear isn't bad looking either.

I'd have to say:

RE4
F-Zero
Twilight Princes
Metroid Prime 1 and 2

were the most stand out to me... it's been awhile since I've played them though.
Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

Metroid Prime 2 was very impressive for me both technically and design-wise.
