man that totally sucks.

You should write them about it ask them why that happened?

I really like Play-Asia so hearing this is sort of uneasy because I really trust their service.

yeah, they need to look at thier preorder system, it seems to favour people who ordered late in the day.

A friend preordered Halo 3 months before we all did, we ordered at the last moment, and he was the last to get his copy by weeks.

They must have gotten a bunch of the regular edition because mine just shipped and I didn't even order one until about a week ago.

Having said that, I too have gotten in on a preorder within seconds of them beginning and been beaten out by others who ordered later. It does suck.

lol- so has anybody heard what "on hold" means yet? It isn't listed in the faqs or anything.

My LE shipped today from them & I ordered my copy October 31st.

My Status was showing as on Hold 2 days ago & then went to Preparing order yesterday & today onto shipped.

I assume that going on hold was while they checked & allocated stock to pre-orders & I'm also assuming that any LE's still on hold are while they fill any early pre-orders & re-assess stock levels for later orders??

Could be I'm totally wrong but I've got my fingers crossed that you all get the LE's you ordered.

Me too. I've used PA for hundreds of preorders for a number of years and never had a single problem.

Welcome to China. Cheap prices for cheap service. Elsewhere is likely to be even more costly though, so it's your own fault for trusting them.

Play-Asia suck, they've fucked a bunch of my orders up before.. seems like its just pot luck.

They are messing me about it thats for sure, They say they should know in 'a few weeks' while quite happy to retain the money I paid in advance while I'm left waiting for stock to dissapear and the price to skyrocket.

NCSX also says they will only fill around 5% of all preorders, so it's for sure not a Play-Asia problem. From what I heard from a friend, Play-Asia also warned about this shortage some time ago by e-mail update.

How are stores so fucking low on stock?? This is most certainly not a "limited" edition.

What's your source on that? It's selling at $100-120+ on Yahoo Japan on day 1. I am glad I preordered mine on time, should be able to collect it tomorrow morning (street date). :D

No it isnt.

The shop here will be getting 30 copies in, 12 have been preordered.. that indicates to me that there isn't going to be a shortage.

I was going to preorder too -_- free shipping from play-asia is always nice.

I guess we are the lucky 2 :)

I've never heard of these sorts of problems with Play-Asia before perhaps this really is a "proper" Limited edition & not just a marketing scam like most appear to be.

I've had similair issues with Yes Asia though & stopped using them a while back because they kept ballsing it all up.

@riffbear
..so if you know late preorders are being filled first, why don't you just pre-order again right now?

If they don't refund, CC chargeback.

Muzza on march 12 via cave-stg wrote:Dear Muzza,

This is an important e-mail update regarding your pending Death Smiles
[First Print Limited Edition] preorder (#13074428).

We regret to inform you that due to an unforeseen production cut,
insufficient quantities of this item will be made available to the market.

According to our suppliers there will be a big shortage on this item as
the publisher has decided to make only a very small print run of the first
print edition.

Despite our very best efforts to reserve as many limited editions
beforehand, our suppliers have informed us that only a very small
percentage of the preorder will be made available. We currently have to
expect that we might be unable to accommodate all pending preorders.

At present we are only able to confirm all orders with order numbers lower
than 13054500. Orders with higher order numbers unfortunately cannot be
confirmed at the moment.

If your order cannot be fulfilled, you will receive another e-mail update
from us.

In case that the supply situation changes your purchase intention, please
feel free to contact our customer service in reply to this e-mail with
your instructions or simply cancel the order in your customer account.

For your reference, the Death Smiles normal print is available, there is
no shortage expected for this item.

We appreciate your support and would once again like to apologize for any
inconvenience this incident may have caused to you.

but *pffft*, ""publishers"" gawd what do they do. Those bastards trying to make a limited edition limited!!
I wanna see Erinu organize a half-baked boycott and somebody else post a funny picture.
I expect 3 pages of whining. No more, no less.

Go! Entertain me! :D

I ordered my copy within the first day, I got a notification saying that I might get a copy and then the order was just cancelled without any notification. The one and only time I've ever had a problem with Play-Asia, if you want the LE from alternative sources be prepared for a wallet raid.

NCS says that they're filling all LE preorders... at additional cost ($17, IIRC). They said they pretty much had to go to retail to do it since distributors' allocations were jacked.

Oh well, whatever, I'll pay the extra money and save myself the hassle. Which is what you should be doing, instead of paying a little less and getting more hassle, or, nothing at all!

YesAsia are deeply untrustworthy and have been for some time - I had a couple of orders go missing entirely, which they sent again as soon as I pointed out that I hadn't received them yet.

This was two or three years ago - I've not used them since - so the fact that it's apparently still an issue only makes it seem more certain that there's something dodgy with their operation or with some of the people working for them.

i dont know who but someone (thank you) told me this may be an issue as i ordered a LE and was going to get a J360 at the same time. was told to hold off for new batch of units and for the le to arrive. thank goodness otherwise i would have the 360 but no game.
Sucks though someone here was selling a j360 for a good price and passed on it.

it was my first attempt w/ Playasia

This happened to me once too, but my girlfriend uses them quite a bit and has never had any trouble. Not sure what that means, if anything.

They're slow, strip pre-order bonuses, and now have higher prices. No reason to shop there anymore in my view. They used to have some nice stuff for a bit cheaper than anywhere else though.
