Seeking help on modding otomedius stick

Post by kk1030 »

Well, I wasn't going to do this from the beginning, but since waitting for my preorder on the SF4 TE stick has became a real pain in the ass, so now I planned to cancel the preorder and move onto modding the otomedius stick instead... (gl to those who still have their preorder in Canada though).

My plan is simple, just get a new plate or remove the one from my HRAP pro2(since I dont use it anymore) and somehow wire 4 more button onto the otomedius pcb. And hide the touchpad inside the box.

So I was wondering has anyone done this before? Or can give me some advise on how to recognize how to place the wire on the pcb? Any link or picture could help greatly. (note: I dont have any stick building experience from the past)

This will happen after my exams, which is 2 weeks from now. Then I will post up pictures of the stick's interior. And maybe the progression of the modification.

Thank you for your help in advance.

I'd suggest modding your HRAP Pro2 with an Xbox 360 controller pcb, would be much simpler and keep the value of the Otomedius stick intact since it is such a strange stick having the touchpad thing and all, would suck if the PCB of that got messed up making it not work.

Also if your HRAP Pro2 has quick disconnects on all the wiring that means you could unhook the original pcb in there and set it aside to swap back in I think.

you can use one of these, they are common ground, theres also diagrams for what to solder wires to on shoryuken somewhere
http://www.amazon.com/Madcatz-Arcade-Ga ... 293&sr=8-3

here is a gamestop madcatz pad diagram for example,
http://forums.shoryuken.com/showthread.php?t=174467

I used one of these pads and wired a DB-15 plug to it using ribbon cable, so it comes out the headset connector (which is still functional). Reason for doing this is any future sticks, plus it works with anything common ground using neogeo pinouts, or even Sigma round plug to DB-15. I guess it would be fancier if I put it in a little project box with autofire switches built in..etc
