Shinobi arcade on your ps3 and 360

Post by D »

Dear Shinobi fans:
There's this 360 and ps3 collection discussed here:
http://shmups.system11.org/viewtopic.ph ... ight=sonic
Well, Shinobi arcade is on there and boy is it tough :D . I'm using save states now and it is doable! video and sound is excellent all options you want, filtering can be turned off, image can be stretched every whichaway!
I bought the asian version from ebay, was the cheapest option. the game is the same as the us version, I see no difference whatsoever, no asain or japanese text at all. Oh yeah, and the genesis games are nice as well.
Lots of stuff there.

Somebody should make a 2-player fighting game with that engine, that would so rock. Like smash bros or something, but with teh same techniques as in shinobi. there's flying kicks, etc!

If I want to save states and use filters for Shinobi I turn on MAME. I already have a 360 controller so this really adds absolutely nothing for me.

This reminds me to check out Space Harrier II though. Not sure if I'll like it since I'm not the biggest SH1 fan and it has teh slowdownz though.

Also, E-Swat, and a number of other titles come to mind. The Shinobi / Rolling Thunder type of "thinking action game" is one of my favorite subgenres of game.

Probably, someone only 4 posts old probably is just mindlessly trolling.
Come check out my website, I guess. Random stuff I've worked on over the last two decades.

Does anyone have a complete list of the ARCADE titles available, unlockable or otherwise?

Also, is there a version of this that will run on an unmodded Japanese X360? I would prefer one that isn`t bordered and 50hz also.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers.

Gamefaqs and I guess the question is if the 360 version is region free, to which I do not have an answer, use google!

Thanks a lot for the tip, worked a treat:

Arcade:

Alien Breed
Altered Beast
Congo Bongo
Fantasy Zone
Shinobi
Space Harrier
Zaxxon

No Japanese version.

North American version - Jap 360 OK.
Chinese/Asian version - Jap 360 OK. Not a clue what the difference is.

UK/ European version - Jap 360 ? I would still like to know the answers regarding this version as seeing `Genesis` as opposed to `Mega Drive` would annoy me to be fair.

Indeed 'Genesis' sounds really retarded for a console name.
Mega Drive is a really cool name, but what was really weird is that there was no drive in it
At the time that was just plain....weird....nevertheless everyone caried on with their lives, but those
BASTARDS!
I have the asian genesis version, but it doesn't bother me. What does bother me is that the background is made up of US genesis carts. I'd rather see EU mega drive carts in the background. 8)

Really? I actually was able to clear it on a single credit w/ a few days of work. Try Shadow Dancer -- that shit is hard!

the emulation on the X360 version of the Ultimate collection is hit and miss. Disappointing Space Harrier emulation, but hey, i freely admit i picked it up just to try out some of the achievements.

was 2980 yen in Akihabara though, so not really too much to complain about.

Ended up with another bout of Flicky addiction. It was like 1984/1991 all over again.
