UK to US shipping time?

Post by Domino »

Hey guys I was just wondering if anyone use International Signed For and/or Airsure services from the Royal Mail from the UK to the US before?

I need to know how long it takes something that's ISF and Airsure to be delivered in the US.

I ordered three PCBs from Lee at videogameimports.com (Pound is weak, I can actually afford shit for once), and it's being shipped in two packages:

RI678151512GB

RI678151526GB

If you check Royal Mail tracking it's pretty much useless. If you go on USPS for both tracking numbers it's still giving the "Origin Post is Preparing Shipment" message.

The packages was sent out last week on the 11th, I'm hoping it gets here by the 18th, but the tracking sucks because I have no idea where the hell it is. :(

If anyone can help me out then that would be cool, thanks!

BEHOLD!

The glory of the UK postal system....

It could take up to two working weeks, sometimes longer.

UK posties wont say something has gone missing for at least 3 weeks. so you got a little while longer before you can make a claim if it were to go missing. Its likley just taking its sweet time. Most of my shirts make it to the us in around about two weeks and a day (% average) sit tight.

What about vise versa guys, I've been waiting on a priority package from the states for over two weeks now. Any ideas?

Lame, I have those PCBs shipped to my home address. I hope I get it no later than Saturday because that's when I have to return to college.

And when it gets to its location I have to drive back home for a day to pick them up.

But how about Airsure to the US?

I can talk for Canada, and it being rather close it should be similar. Always been reliable, meaning, that I always got my stuff within a week or so via Airsure. Tracking is always ridiculously out of date, though, as in, I would be notified 3-4 days AFTER getting my stuff that it was delivered to my place. Pretty useless.

Once I had some Amiga and Atari ST stuff shipped from the UK and it took about a month, as I recall.

I always used USPS express mail from the States to the UK, takes 4-5 working days, is tracked and has insurance. Would cost $20 for almost anything though, so usually made it worth it by adding more content

As for UK to USA, its useless thinking your getting anything less than bog standard 1 month delivery. If you get faster then thats a bonus. You would have to go UPS or Fedex to get something better than that.

Canada is a lot worse for getting packages from the UK. in my exprience EDIT: time wise no so much them not turning up. Just the time frame.

I've sent shed loads of stuff from the UK to the US and delivery can be as quick as 3 days and as long as 2-3 weeks regardless of any added options like ISF and Airsure :(

Generally speaking I'd worry anytime after that 3 weeks. 90% of the time its no problem and quite quick, lord knows what happens the rest of the time :(

Typically for high value items your better off with a trackable courier service with a guaranteed delivery time frame - downside is they are always really expensive - shipping from UK to anywhere overseas with any level of insurance is ridiculously expensive :(

i wont send anything outside of the EU without some kind of tracking or insurance. As soon at it leaves the county the chances of it going missing go up and up again after it leaves the EU. Nothing to do with the people its just a case of the more people who handle the parcel the more chance it has of someone fucking up and misplacing the bastard.

For the most part I would say 99% of my international parcels get to where there going just fine. I cant recall who but someone on the forum had the shirts sent out to him twice and both times they went missing but as they say 3rd times a charm
