Mirror's Edge 2D

Post by Ruldra »

For those of us who can't play the original Mirror's Edge, we can have some fun with this 2D version.

Only 3 levels so far, but it's pretty fun.

It's like the bastard child of Sonic and Prince of Persia.

It's better than the actual game.

Indeed, pretty damn awesome. Love the smooth 'n slick controls.

The game is awesome... when it isn't sucking up 200 MB of virtual memory...
Come check out my website, I guess. Random stuff I've worked on over the last two decades.

I find it hilarious that the actual game looked so good, but then the cutscenes (and this game here) use graphics that look like some kid's embarrassing school project. So ugly.

Still a pretty good flash game though!

Um, what? What the hell is wrong with stylized cartoon cutscenes? Why does everything have to be ultra-realistic? Ever heard of artistic license? Yeesh.

I thought this too, from the demo anyway.

You have this pretentious, infuriating cutscene, then the in game stuff kicks in and fucking destroys the cutscene visually.

mang u crackin me up

No not like Quake sums up my feelings on this. It's BAD art, "license" be damned. Note that I also was thinking of the demo, so it could possibly be better in the full game. I doubt it.

*splat*

Anyway I played much of the first two levels of 2D Mirror's Edge and then gave up since it was so repetitive. Great fun for a few seconds anyway, and all the moves were logical and easy to pull off (even stuff like running on billboards), maybe a bit too much so.
