Hey Kids,
I just wanted to pass along the word that it's time once again for Intergalactic Shmuppreciation Month. MC Wilson is once again taking charge and has put together the contest and prizes over at www.ShmupMonth.com. The prize this year is a "Play it Cool" edition Japanese Sega Saturn along with a copy of Dodonpachi and a mystery shmup prize.
The challenges are running for the entire month, so check www.shmupmonth.com to learn all the details.
Have fun!
Intergalactic Shmuppreciation Month 2009
I have no idea, actually. MC Wilson is running it. From what I understand, he chose those consoles to begin with because by earning achievements/trophies/whatever it's the easiest way for him to verify that you actually met that challenge, rather than having to sift through screenshots, videos, etc.
somebody explain where the "no purchase necessary" clause in sweepstakes went.
united states law should apply (hosting's in atlanta); I'm probably being ignorant about what kind of contest this is or who's giving stuff away. I've seen lots of this lately, though, in some surely-applicable situations (for-profit / ad-supported sites).

There are no ads on ShmupMonth.com, and I am making absolutely no profit by spending more than $300 out of my own pocket to give away a prize to folks that are doing nothing except complaining about the way I'm choosing to run the contest.trivial wrote:somebody explain where the "no purchase necessary" clause in sweepstakes went.

Dang, I won't be able to participate in the contests. I still think it's awesome what MC Wilson does for this though. You're the man!
Oh well, maybe this year I'll get to do what I wanted to last year. Play a different shmup every day of the month =)
Though I'll probably just end up playing lots of Dodonpachi like I did last year.

Also thanks to the Drunken Gamers crew at RobotPanic.com (formerly known as Team Fremont) for the repeated podcast shout-outs to Shmups.com.
