I have a strange problem with a CPS A-board.
5V and 12V are fine, also tried on other cab same problem.
The problem is on the A-Board, because i tried other A-boards and both games were running fine with it.
The gameplay and also the sound is fine, just graphics are mixed up like on the pictures.
Any idea what could be wrong with it? Anyone had the same issuses and were able to fix it?
Looks like a bad connection somewhere? Parhaps the A to b board connections? if reataching repeatedly deosn't fix (doesn't clean it), then maybe check the solder's for each pin? (if you can't see a crack somewhere, then you could very carefully touch each pin with a tiny screwdriver so see if the screen clears up- delicate because if you touch two pins at once, you could break something with the short).
Or a solder crack on one of the chips? Can you flex the board in any way to clear up the screen?
I think that's the most probable, but it could also be an electronic failure somewhere (not just mechanical).
I've got one of those cool Three Wonders PCB myself and it works flawlessly. of course, it's the World version variant. There three different versions of 3 Wonders: Japanese, USA, and lastly, World.
Could be that the internal battery needs to be replaced. When a typical 3 Wonders PCB works 100% flawlessly, it is quite an awesome multi-game PCB in it's own right -- especially the shmup portion of Chariots/Roosters. ^_~
