This looks amazing!
These guys need to be hired.
It's fast.
Nice artwork
Nice explosions
Looks like a megaman game, but faster!
I only just saw the vid and thought it might interest others

Personally I thought Noitu Love 2 was shit and the dev was aping Treasure's style and gameplay.
Again with this he proves he's not good at coming up with original ideas.

Get in touch with WayForward, they're currently waiting to see how many people would be interested in a new title and are playing around with ideas for a Wii and DS game.Turrican wrote:It looks very similar to Shantae in graphics. Really nice!
Sigh... When I'll get a new Shantae?
it looks really nice. They should edit the sprites and rename it and make some cash off of it. cant wait to try it out.

Well, Square did send a C&D order at that fan Chrono Trigger remake that was in development a while ago. You never know...Necronom wrote:As long as it stays freeware, I don't think so.The Coop wrote:Watch a C&D order show up in 48 hours
Great little arcade style Zelda tribute btw. Though the "draw 'em up" Chalk is still my favourite.
@Lordstar
They? It's just one guy...
Anyway, looks very Treasure-ish; me like!^^

On the other hand, Zelda Classic has been going for years, and Nintendo probably has much more reason to shut that down than this.
This game is better than what Nintendo devs do and I say that with caution; not having played it. It's too agressive/awesome for Nintendo. If it was made by nintendo it would have been with less frantic action, slower movement, smaller explosions, less animation. It's the kind of platformer I've been waiting for for years and I'm not a Zelda nor Nintendo fan
I now go drool at the vid again.
So I think Nintendo must feel very threatened.
And not even having played it, I can see that the gameplay is excellent.
Heck maybe some depressive Nintendo employee who's on the verge of commiting suicide might actually kill this dev out of hate/jealousy, it's that good.
EDIT: just played it: confirmed! Awesome gameplay. Well, how about wide screen support then? This will make me buy a HDMI pc videocard out and plug it into the 50".

It definitely plays more like the last Monster World game (the one with the chick) than it does Link.
To be honest, although it plays alright (though I hate playing this type of game with keyboard), it feels soulless. The main character has the expressions of a zombie and everything lacks a signature style.

That's because that Chrono Trigger remake (Chrono Trigger: Resurrection) was to be a word-for word, straight up, start to finish complete remake of the original Chrono Trigger. Something like that Square or any other company would care about. If Square were to release their own Chrono Trigger remake (like they did for the DS not too long ago), why would anyone buy it when there's a remake out there on the internet for free? That CT fan remake would have hurt Square-Enix chances to make money of their own CT remake.ZOM wrote: Well, Square did send a C&D order at that fan Chrono Trigger remake that was in development a while ago. Game companies do not mind fangames as long as they are not sold for profit and they do not discredit any company or third party.
The age of Alluro and JudgeSpear is over.
Soulless? He looks more like a evil link, just one pixel per eye could make him look friendlier!, pretty cool and I like how his stance movement is very fast. Like Turbo Street Fighter. I don't think it lacks a signature style at all. The signature style is there! look closely!No_not_like_Quake wrote:It definitely plays more like the last Monster World game (the one with the chick) than it does Link.

I must say I was a little disappointed with the game. Presentation wise it's just a little too dynamic for it's own good. The main weapon and the transparency effects actually get's in the way of the gameplay. You get used to it though. More important is that the controls feels too loose. The game feels busy because of it, even when there's barely nothing happening, but it get's irritating after a while. I thought I would get used to it but not so yet.
The levels lack the more stringent design of the Monster World games and feels more like those in Derek Yu's first game (the name escapes me). And then there's the weapons... What's wrong with using a sword when you've got it? To me, the three weapons you can choose between at the beginning feels more like secondary weapons than primary ones. I want to wield that sword!
Edited to add: "And so you could, if you only took the time to learn the controls..."
That said, I like the game and will continue playing it. There's something about caves and labyrinths that never get's old and this, together with the graphics and music, will probably pull me through.

Well, personally I think a proper CT remake from square would still sell like hotcakes regardless if there's a freeAlluro wrote:That's because that Chrono Trigger remake (Chrono Trigger: Resurrection) was to be a word-for word, straight up, start to finish complete remake of the original Chrono Trigger. fan remake floating around the web or not, but yeah, I agree it's a completely different situation here.

I'll give it a few more goes. It may grow on me (often first impressions leave me feeling meh).D wrote:Soulless? Downloaded it, played it, loved it.
On my second run, got to that freaky mirror version of you [and died there, I've only done 2 runs].
I wish the chicken was a little easier to get off screen [PROTIP: whack it 4-5 times]. It makes the block puzzle so much harder... I mean it's supposed to make things harder, but...
And I wish it didn't slowdown so much when there were more than 6 objects on screen...

Come check out my website, I guess. Random stuff I've worked on over the last two decades.
I believe the game is made with Multimedia Fusion, which can explain it. There should be an option to turn off the 'effects'. And somebody give the developer a real engine (or better yet, give him a DS-kit).null1024 wrote:And I wish it didn't slowdown so much when there were more than 6 objects on screen...
I have to take back what I said about the level design not being stringent enough. Having played it some more I can see that it is quite well laid out and not the 'endless walkabout' I thought at first. There's still some bugs in the game though. When you get to the two doors you can go off the screen to the right. Even worse is that you sometimes become stuck in water and have to restart the whole game.
