Suggoi! Arcana Heart 2

Post by nash87 »

The jap ps2 port is up on playasia. release date is currently Apr 06, 2009

http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-40- ... -36hh.html

I think i'll wait for the U.S. release, $60.00USD is pretty steep compared to the $20.00 i paid for the first one.

Here's a youtube combo vid, enjoy

Do you think there's any chance of this one making it here? I was very surprised to see the original make it, and I can't imagine it sold very well...think Atlus would be willing to do it a second time? I'd certainly buy it if they did, but my hopes aren't all that high offhand...

The original one sold horribly. It wouldn't be like Atlus to not localize the sequel as well but you can bet it'll have the JP voices stripped just like last time. I'm definitely pre-ordering this game again for whatever the pre-order bonus will be but either way, I'd bet you'll be able to get it for cheap some months later.

What voices were missing? I haven't played the game at length, but most stuff seemed intact...at least the important stuff anyway.

gameplay looks allright but seriously, the arcana heart games have the most uninspired characters ive ever seen :?

it even makes the KOF series look like a marvel of ingenuity in comparison..

They can do better female design and drawings like in Guilty Gear, but yeah, this game is trying to sell itself by giving ppl a stiffy so ppl don't really notice.

The in-battle voices remain but all the cutscenes used to be fully voiced. Since SCEA doesn't go for that sort of stuff anymore, Atlus was forced to take all the voices out.

Yeah I’m looking forward to this release almost as much as street fighter IV.
AH1 is already a solid game, and I hear S!AH2 is much better with a lot of improvements.

I just hope Examu are able to pull this off on the PS2, if they can get it to run as good as the original port did I’m happy.

Well, if that's all we have to put up with (along with the lack of a drama CD, onoes! :P) in exchange for translated dialogue, etc. and a lower price tag, I'm all for it.

I agree the characters for the most part suck, and to make it worse they're all lollis (except like 3 of them) but there is no denying the gameplay is pretty damn amazing, even if there is a furry lolli, ew

I think the gameplay of AH1 is a lot more detailed than most people are willing to give it credit for. When we had our little local tourneys, only like 3 of us (out of 8 to 10) had practiced, and it showed...

I'll definitely get the second one. Really enjoyed the first.

Ahh, MvC2... such a great game. I'd love to see an online version of it. (And no, the KDDI-Net enabled JP PS2 version doesn't count.)

For the longest time I thought online fighting games wouldn't work right because even a tiny bit of lag would screw them up. SF4 showed me that, with a good connection to the other player, it works great.

Trying to get back on topic... yeah, it'd be nice if AH2 had online play. Is that on topic? I don't know, it's almost 2 am, I need some sleep.

I must be getting old, I watched the combo vid and the game looked totally incomprehensible, a mass of flashy effects and cut-in graphics.

I like the raygun character though, she's pretty cool looking.

Oh, so it's not just me. I find myself feeling that way about a lot of modern fighting games that take after Marvel.
