Ketsui PCB Players Needed!:

Post by JAPJAC »

As I mentioned elsewhere, I have just managed to clear Ketsui PCB`s first loop by using just 1 credit.

However, I am stuck for what to go for next? I am therefore looking for sound advice from expert players here for which I am sure there are many. It is such a deep game in that respect.

Have you been in my early position? If so, what did you do next?

To be honest, even though I managed the above, I did bomb and die and I was down to my last life after getting all 4 1UPS and starting with my 3 lives.

How should I tackle things-going for a high score or not bombing or not losing a single life? I am clearly not capable of doing all three, yet!

My completion score was my best yet, but that was only around 80 MILLION which is poor I know. Going for a good score is not my forte then.

One run in five I can get to level five without dying. One run in ten I can get to level 5 without bombing or dying. Level 5 just rapes me, it is the only real problem I have with the game (apart from scoring of course).

I care about the score (a rarity for me in any game) but I do wonder when I watch a matey get a score which is three times greater than mine but starts dying on the first level!!!

I need to learn level 5 then before I can decide upon my chosen goal, I think...

I want to see the 2nd loop so that comes into it also. What exactly do I need to achieve to do this?

Finished thinking outload so any proper advice would be most appreciated.

Cheers.

***EDIT-80 Million, not Thousand and it`s 75 not 80, total balls up basically, sorry***

...your clear score is 80K :?: i dont even think thats possible.. you must mean 80 million? (well youre over 45M if you get the extends anyways)

scoring in ketsui is pretty simple, pointblank a small enemy and kill it with your C shot to get a 5 chip, switch to A shot and draw as many 5 chips from the other enemies onscreen before your timer depletes, ideally a big one.

repeat and thats it.

2nd loop requirements are to clear the game using 5 bombs + deaths combined or less, or no miss/no bomb for the URA loop..
the destruction of everything, is the beginning of something new. your whole world is on fire, and soon, you'll be too..

80 millions is maybe not a killer score, but to 1CC Ketsui is awesome…

As sven666 say, you have to kill one small enemy at close range to pick up the 5 chip … but then if I don’t remember wrong you have to lock the laser on a big enemy and at the same time kill smaller enemies. The reason is that the score for killing small enemies are base on the chip counter and the “base value” for the enemy you have the locked the laser on.

Nope, didn't clear it. I start fumbling with scoring around the third stage, then I just keep playing for survival until I die.

Just keep playing and watching replays. Not much point in going for score if you can't get through it without dying.

No clear here either. Best I can do is about half of stage 5 before all my lives are used up. I might be able to clear if I bombed, but that just seems so counter-intuitive in Ketsui, especially when you play for score.

I cleared it before my son was born (by a week or so) and put it away due to lack of time that the 2nd loop would require. In these types of games, the next step is always logical: higher score and/or higher loop. The higher score should be easy to attack. 2nd loop will require more dedication.

You could of course, move on to any number of other great games out there.

Scoring in this game is not only a piece of piss, its an absolute joy.

I'd forget about the second loop for now and just stick with trying to hit 100 mill

Thank you for all your help. I now fully understand the requirements in reaching the 2nd loop.

I understood the scoring to the level of sven666`s understanding but as I suspected when it gets to the SinHo`s understanding I really do stuggle.

Therefore I am delighted that I don`t need to worry about my score and I can and am just conentrating on learning the 5th level better and remembering my 5 strikes rules.

I shall stick to Ketsui even though all of the other Cave offerings are available to me, they don`t really appeal. Ketsui`s fast pace really is my cuppa tea and that is why I chose it.

Thank you to everyone else whom took the time in completing the poll.

Cheers.
