Ninja Blade Jan 29
Ninja Blade Jan 29
NCSX has pre-orders up for ninja blade. I had no idea this was coming out this soon.... 5 days after my birthday.
Anyone else actually excited for this? I am always up for another 3rd person action game then throw in a ninja... sold. I really enjoy From Softwares past action games: Otogi 1 and 2, Metal Wolf Chaos, And recently really enjoyed Armored Core 4 Answer.

Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

I'm not expected it to be groundbreaking... but i've really enjoyed all of from software's action games. Not the armored core really but both Metal Wolf Chaos and the Otogi games were alot of fun for me. Plus i actually did like AC4A a decent amount also.
I'm expecting a solid game. I don't need every game to be a AAA game and innovative to be looking forward to it. It helps that it looks really nice to start with.
I've seen gameplay vids... there's a few out there.

WOW.... been playing this game since saturday now. It's fantastic if you like this kind of game, especially if you a fan of from software's action games (Otogi 1, 2, Metal Wolf Chaos).
The combo system feels similar to otogi and you are HIGHLY distructive. You can bust up crates, drum cans ect. It has that same highly destructive thing going for it just like the other games. The ninjitsu helps with this alot. Everything can be powered up, and some moves/ninjitsu add to this theme.
It's alot like rolling ninja gaiden, god of war, and otogi all in one. Running on the walls and wall hopping are in play, it likes to do the auto slowdown thing on certain key actions; like running on a wall, it'll do it when you flip from one to the other or certain attacks.
It's got LOTS of quick time events and the action in them is over the top and really fun to me. They are mixed in all over the place and you really get to lay the smack down the bosses or they will lead you to another round of the boss fight.
There is alot of mixing up between action, quick time events, platforming, and vehicle/turrent (less on the last but they are quite fun to) areas. And you can replay all missions you complete for upgrade meter milking and looking for missed upgrades ect in the area (busting up shit).
I highly recommend it to anyone who likes action titles. I'm not saying it's a perfect 10 or the best game ever made... but I'm on level 4 and have had a blast and enjoyed figuring out the engine ect. At least give it a rent and fair shot.
Fans of Otogi should go check this out for sure. I'm not saying it's like a follow up to it, it's a different game. But you can feel it's links through the combo system, hard hitting attacks and milking the levels via replaying ect for upgrades.
It helps that it's pretty looking to.

Quick time events is why they make controllers with only one button today. I was thinking about getting the Hori myself, but this one has done me well all these years: TADA
But really, it's Otogi but more modern, how could it go wrong?
Aside from not having enough Wrath of the Black Manta references for "business reasons," that is.

the visuals are great..... some minor things here or there. nothing to worry about, it's a pretty game.
it's really good also, but don't expect a 10 or the second coming ect. it's just a very fun action game that doesn't look to shabby either.

Just played the demo, and you can count me in.
It is obviously ripping off Ninja Gaiden a lot, but oh well. It's a lot of fun. I thought running down the sky scraper was neat.
Looking forward to it.
It got 8/8/8/8 from Famitsu.

If you like these kind of games you'll enjoy it a lot. I beat it last night.
One thing that will help folks is to keep in mind that all projectiles can be knocked back. Use the quick swords to make it easier and some projectiles seem to explode when you hit them.... you'll need to use your ranged attacks with the quick swords so you don't get hit from the blast. that info helped a lot on some bosses that your suppose to use that on but don't HAVE to.
there are some HUGE projectiles like thrown cars you can't do that to but most can, it's rare that you can't.

I've playing the Asian version for the past week and a half and am now on level 8 (or whatever the level is after defeating...the "person" who betrayed you--to avoid spoilers). I only have 2 first aid sprays left and just found out they don't respawn during relays of completed levels. Am I screwed? I don't feel like starting over but it seems I have to. Yes, I suck. Please help!

I had to restart my game, and made it to level 9 with 9 health items. Originally, I had made it to the end with only 2, and couldn't pull it off. I think I could now, but only with a as much practice as I had.GateofThunderforceIII wrote:I've playing the Asian version for the past week and a half and am now on level 8 (or whatever the level is after defeating...the "person" who betrayed you--to avoid spoilers). Thanks so much evil_ash_xero!! You saved me some time there and I will start over ASAP. I hope there is a way to stash more than 9 first aid cans because I plan on not using them nearly as much. The checkpoints are pretty generous.
Here's hoping From works on Otogi 3, then a Ninja Blade 2 but with less worms and better popcorn enemies.

If you die and continue it respawns you at a check point. If I was in a pinch I just died and restart from whatever point I got to.

Yeah, what he said. If you want to conserve health items, just keep fighting a boss or a stage, and if you get killed, it doesn't matter. Just keep doing it, until you can get past it without using many health items.Strider77 wrote:If you die and continue it respawns you at a check point.
