Screamo!
yes.....why do people not like screamo/emo?
im with ya tommy.....
for me its the dynamics of it.....you just dont see that anymore in most modern genres......harmonies and screaming....at the same time.....its hard and soft at the same time.....
and screamo has come a very long way since the mid to late 90's...thats over 10 years ago
i love it!!!
fuck all y'all.....

If I want to listen to people screaming over guitars I´d rather listen to stuff like this.

I´m kinda lost on subgenres and I´m pretty sure THIS here isn´t Screamo, but I´m still puzzled:

I recently stumbled across this and at first I thought this was just an elaborate prank, but all their music sounds like this. It´s somewhat entertaining to see some cosplay-looking dude dancing with a girl in rap-video fashion, but instead of singing or rapping he´s just BRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!!!! Even if this is irony it sucks bad regardless.

the 3 tenors perhaps......

you shouldnt judge a genre based on its radio friendly offerings......if all you have to base an opinion on a genre is the crap major labels throw together to snag another demographic, you arent really informed enough....Momijitsuki wrote:Yeah! I liek screemo bands liek My chmecial romance, the used, hathnorn hights and brokencyde!!!
that would be like saying hiphop is mindless drivel because 50cent and little wayne suck.....you simply havent heard REAL hiphop
same thing here...
i never understood the hate on for screamo/emo/metalcore/whatever.....
sure the scene kids are kinda fruity what with the makeup and crying and shit....i just like the music....i dont follow scenes.....
just because 'X' band is in the forefront of a genre does not mean they are the end all be all of it....they simply happened to be marketable
and just for giggles......ummmm....do any of those bands you list ^^ actually scream?

*edited* and buddy respnded too quick

I was being sarcastic. And when it comes to actual screaming, no, they do not. They suck anyway. I was just emulating how some kids around here talk. :pjonny5 wrote:you shouldnt judge a genre based on its radio friendly offerings......if all you have to base an opinion on a genre is the crap major labels throw together to snag another demographic, you arent really informed enough....Momijitsuki wrote:Yeah! Yeah when I first heard the word emo its was in the mid 90's refering to bands like Christie Front Drive, Mineral, Boys Life, Braid, Still Life etc. These days it means eye makeup and mall punk apparently.Octopod wrote:Jon wrote:I used to like Orchid a bit in my younger days. I like Orchid. And i like old emo like Fugazi, Mineral, Rites of Spring, Embrace, Sunny Day Real Estate, Moss Icon, Braid.
That new shit that gets called emo sucks hard though.
Fuck genres.
Emo is one of the most over/improperly used terms of recent times.Jon wrote:Yeah when I first heard the word emo its was in the mid 90's refering to bands like Christie Front Drive, Mineral, Boys Life, Braid, Still Life etc. These days it means eye makeup and mall punk apparently.

I would go so far as to say that the majority of the people who use the word have no idea that it is a music genre, let alone what music from said genre might sound like
yeah, it is basically meaningless now because so many people misuse it. It's kind of irritating, actually.gabe wrote:Emo is one of the most over/improperly used terms of recent times.Jon wrote:Yeah when I first heard the word emo its was in the mid 90's refering to bands like Christie Front Drive, Mineral, Boys Life, Braid, Still Life etc. These days it means eye makeup and mall punk apparently.
