I tried your game, its well programmed.
The colorful sprites are good but then the backgrounds should be darker and less colorful for more contrast.
And the smoke effects often make things hard too see.
I reached stage 2 where to many flying enemies were thrown at me randomly and i lost all lives.

Have you read the manual?

You must collect the jewels/orbs, then the bonus chopper bot comes, you shoot it, and if it doesn't have what you want, shoot it until it does.

Keep doing this and accumulate your homing missiles and healths, and you're set to go.

Don't rush through the levels. Accumulate as much ammo and live as you can before proceeding to fight the next batch of enemies.

This is not designed to be like any other shmup, as it has some puzzle/strategy elements.
