They have nice pay-by-download subscriptions that I use all the time.
I assume you use windows XP? If so its probably because windows by default only allows like 10 active connections. The good sites are very quick.indstr wrote:Yeah, torrents if you don't mind waiting forever, and crippling your internet connection so that your girlfriend can't watch shit on youtube while you are downloading,

Sometimes it's a router limitation. In addition to devices that are actually advertised as routers, many cable and DSL modems also act as routers, and if they're overwhelmed with connections it can really mess things up. Your connection can also get choked if your upstream usage cap is not set appropriately; it should be at least 10% below what your connection is actually capable of, or else downloading can be impaired (because your system must still send acknowledgments to the server).TodayIsForgotten wrote:I assume you use windows XP? True. I've only experienced issues (other nodes connected to my network) with our migration to Verizon Fios. The actiontec's NAT tables get overwhelmed due to being tiny. Everyone else has connection issues mine is fine.Ex-Cyber wrote:Sometimes it's a router limitation. Also, the "10 connection limit" in XP is often misunderstood. It is not a limit of 10 connections total, but rather 10 "half-open" connections. Once a connection is actually established, it's not subject to the limit. This can still cause a few performance problems, but it doesn't really limit the total number of peers you can connect to nor your download speed once they are connected.
