Neo Geo sticks
How do you guys feel about Neo sticks? I have had the newer (kidney style) and thought it was decent. I have since sold it and ordered a "old style" original stick from Jp. How do these stack up against other sticks, and are they good for shmups. Any info is apprecited

You won't be disappointed with it's build quality. It feels very solid and the stick has a short throw which might interest you since you're into shmups. The only reason I don't use one is the button layout is not for me. Might be for you. If it had the arcade layout that would be awesome I'm used to that, but that downward arc is no go.lawnspic wrote:How do you guys feel about Neo sticks? You could use Seimitsu EL-20 they're 20mm buttons, but good luck tracking them down. They're discontinued.jonny5 wrote:lolz was just about to start a similar topic so heres a semi hijack
can i throw seimitsu/sanwa buttons in, and how...cuz the buttons that are in it now are like 20mm....or would i just have to use 20mm buttons?

I have seen others use 24mm buttons, not exactly sure which kind though.
I use 24mm screw-in Seimitsu buttons with my old-style stick. It's a HUGE improvement over the stock buttons. They fit right in with no plastic modification, just remove the PCB.
I left in the stock stick because for my life I cannot figure out how to get a LS-32 in there without major external modifications.
I did replace the dinky little stock balltop with a Seimitsu ball though, and it's actually an improvement, to add a bit of weight to the throw and size to the grip.
