A Ratchet and Clank series thread..

Post by dtdg »

Yeah, so I've playing the original one for the PS2 and I've gotten to that forest planet where *Spoilers* you have to find the robot lieutant (sic) and I've looked and I can't find him. Where the hell is he? Also if things don't pick up for this game, I just abandon it for it's sequel.

It's been some time since I played the first R+C, but if memory serves can't you look at the in-game map and see where you need to go for your current goal? Or did they only add that in later entries?

The first R&C also had the map.

As the series progresses, there is a pretty big shift to less platforming and more straight up combat.

I used to love the shit out of the R&C games. Going Commando was the high point of the series for me. Kept the best atmosphere, had the best jump in guns, was just a hell of a lot of fun to play. Haven't played the PS3 installment or Size Matters yet, though.

I never played the PS2 iterations but was given the PS3 one as a gift and absolutely loved it. Are the other ones as humorous? Maybe I should seek out the older ones and see what I've been missing out on.

I enjoyed the "main" PS2 R+C games - though they're definitely not too "hardcore" I still enjoyed the trip while they lasted, and they can be picked up for peanuts now. I never did try Deadlocked, but from what I heard it was something of a step backward from the previous bunch - I did get Size Matters on the PSP but was somewhat disappointed by it.
