The Mr. Driller series

Post by mikehaggar »

Hey everyone! I'd like to discuss the Mr. Driller series with you fine people.

Anybody here as into this game as me? I doubt it, but just in case, I'd like to know who here loves playing Mr. Driller games.

I myself am hopelessly addicted, and I've found that the games are really deep and really rewarding, they are meant to master. I've spent the last few years perfecting my score, and I'm planning to start a high score ranking site and possibly forum dedicated to this fine series.

The best versions of the game are the arcade versions, as they are the most hardcore and present the biggest challenge in mastering.

For those that don't know, there are 3 arcade versions available:

Mr. Driller
Mr. Driller 2
Mr. Driller G

2 & G are the best ones, as they feature the hardcore 2000m mode, as well as even harder modes (in G). Part 1, as great as it is, doesn't have anything beyond 1000m, so it is much easier to master (though I bet that are still very few people in America who have done what is possible in this game).

Oh, and for those wondering, all 3 arcade versions sell for CHEAP. They cost around 50 bucks or so shipped, so if you have an arcade cab or supergun at home, jumping right into this series is very very affordable!

So anyhow, let's discuss this fine game! Who here's into it, and who here is REALLY into it? I hope to find some real fans in this thread, so let's hear it!

You're right, but I didn't want to resurrect a thread that was over 2 years old. I wanted to see who currently was still into this game. If those people want to post again, that would be great, but I just wanted to leave the old topic alone.

It doesn't matter though, the point here is simply to celebrate in the game's awesomeness!

Edit: Now I see that you actually linked to a thread that wasn't too old in your second link.

Hmm, I guess I should post there as well.
