Quarantine

Post by IlMrm »

A little bit of Cloverfield, Blair Witch Project, Silent Hill, and Resident Evil 5 in it. Now I am interested in seeing REC to see just how much they changed/copied.

A little spoiler:

From the trailer, I can say that it copies REC frame for frame. What stood out as a pretty good copy was the old hagged woman who comes running down the corridor.

I thought REC was ok. It does that creepy feeling mood pretty good.
This industry has become 2 dimensional as it transcended into a 3D world.

All I know about this movie is that Deb from Dexter is in it.
Feedback will set you free.

Wow, so complete and utter trash then, huh?

And there is Saw V coming down the pipeline to consider as well. With Jigsaw already dead at the end of the third film, I was wondering how Saw 4 was going to continue on without Jigsaw's participation. It's the police people tied up on the original investigation of Jigsaw that keeps the spirit and various mechanical contraptions alive/on-going. The bad loner cop with a revenge motive at best.

Yeah, this Quarantine film looks pretty cool to check out considering it's horror film season this time around. ^_~

At work we have a trailer for this on GameStop TV, that I've heard over and over and over again. Aside from the fact that I'm REALLY tired of listening to it at work, I could care less; it's just: "Let's see how much money we can make if we have enough screaming in this movie". This looks retarded and nowhere near as good as the Blair Witch Project.

What kind of an ending were the creators thinking of...the current ending as it stands, leaves the viewer wanting to learn more about just WTF happened and beyond that point. Granted that it was the first film to use the internet effectively to spread the hype into checking it out at the movie theaters. Blair Witch Project oozed of cheap-ass filming on a shoestring budget yet raked in millions easily.

Just like with the sudden aburpt ending featured in "Burn Before Reading". Surely the Cohen brothers can make a better film then with that lame ending. Take a look at the epic No Country for Old Men...that is a masterpiece of film-making right there with it's unfettered portrayal of uber-violence that strikes the major characters at impromptu times or meet their untimely demise on the bet of a coin flip.

I did watch No Country for Old Men, and it was good, but I do wish there had been some closure at the end. I've never seen Cloverfield.

so i watched REC the other night....

great film.....and from the screen shots this quarantine flick looks like a scene for scene remake....even the chick looks the same...

i plan to watch it tonight so i will post my impressions later

slightly OT but are they so out of ideas?? literally every horror flick that has come out in recent memory has been a remake.....and remakes of newer movies.....

do they really think people cant read subtitles....and especially for REC...a lot of people in NA speak spanish....and the rest can probably read....so why the need to remake a film that is a few years old?
