Analysis of new Knight Rider series from NBC...

Post by PC Engine Fan X! »

After viewing both episodes 1 and 2 of the new 2008 of NBC's Knight Rider last night back-to-back, I think it will be a great action series with the usual high-speed car chases, etc. Just listening to the cool retro 1982 KR opening music theme brings back some wonderful memories of the classic KR series from 1982. ^_~

I did watch the two-hour new KR movie on NBC for ol' times sake back in January of 2008. This new Kitt car is the Ford Mustang GT 500 Shelby version btw instead of the ol' Pontiac Trans Am car of the old series.

It should be interesting to see the new Kitt's AI "upgraded" with dry humor as it was slightly hinted at the end of episode 2 in the upcoming episodes.

A full-on "balls to the walls" street race between Kitt and a heavily modified Lamborgini as shown in episode 2? The Asian driver ain't know jack shit about the capabilities of what that sick Ford Mustang can do. It was great to see Ford place an Ford GT supercar as a special cameo appearance...those cars are quite something. I got to see one of those Ford GTs up close at the International Sacramento Auto Show back in 2004 -- just goregeous when dressed up in a hot red paint scheme and embellished with twin white racing stripes from hood to trunk. ^_~

This new KR series gets on with the current times with an inside GTA-4 joke for reference.

What are your thought about this new revamped and revived Knight Rider series?

Will watch it now based on your thoughts.
I'm still watching Eureka, quirky sci-fi.
There's this new show called Fringe, which is x-filesy, has good plot, but bad actors, casting, direction. Only watched the pilot yet.
Well Terminator sarah connor Chronicles season 2 is awesome. Even better than the first season.

I watched Eureka once; it sucks. Same probably true for this Sanctuary thing (which I know nothing about other than I guess it's a pity vehicle for Samantha Carter post-SG1 rite? p.s. Stargate sucked most of the time too; in fact most everything on Skiffy Channel sucks, always and terribly)

Greatest American Hero > Knight Rider, anyway.

For Ed Oscuro,

You totally favor William Katt over David Hasselhoff? Say it isn't so. ^_~

Glen A. Larson sure knew how to create some cool and memorable 1980's serialized shows like: Knight Rider, Street Hawk, Airwolf, Automan (a 1983 Tron-like rip-off series), etc.

There's no point in bothering with any original Sci-Fi programs. I believe I watched a few episodes of the new Battlestar Galactica, however. That being said, they are fairly good at showing obscure sci-fi movies. I'm thinking Cube and Phantasm here. They also show Dr. Who, so that's a saving grace.

Cube \o/

I've watched the two episodes of the new Knight Rider series (and the pilot) and it's pretty horrible stuff. It's like they put a talking, morphing car into a Fast And The Furious movie. Hot chicks and cool-looking cars, very little else so far. The script writers seem to think of ways to put the main female character into wearing nothing but a bra or a bikini in every episode.

Still, I'll probably watch a few more episodes at least. 'cause hey, hot chicks and cool-looking cars.
No matter how good a game is, somebody will always hate it. No matter how bad a game is, somebody will always love it.

Hot chicks with T&A along with hot cars is what this new series is all about just from the intial two episodes alone. ^_~

NBC has stated that they really want this new series to focus mainly on this new Kitt car and with Ford participating in it, they want to make sure that it is represented with as much air time as possible during the show. Does make for some free publicity trying to sell more of those cool Shelby Mustang GT-500s to customers -- and they aren't cheap to begin with either. ^_~

Watched the first episode of KR....didn't like it....i've just had it with remakes of old shows for awhile.

Eureka - fun little sci-fi show.

Fringe...started off great, but I'm losing interest quick.

Terminator - one of my favorite robots turned into a chick-a-fied show? Forgive for being sexist, but you can't take a macho character(s) like this and turn into a chick show complete with maxi-pad and eye shadow commercials.

I watched a trailer once and thought it sucked, then I watched it and I was like: "meh". But it really grew on me. Lot's of humor. It's not a serious show, but it is sci-fi. It's very unique.
