Best Saturn and PS2 arcade sticks.
For shooters (bien sur); any ideas?
The HRAP1 are definitely cheaper and they're just as good as HRAP2. The differences between them are minor.papado wrote:Pro Stick 1 any good (not 2)? What about Saturn sticks?
For the Saturn i think the Sega Virtua Stick is great and IIRC they use Seimitsu parts, but if you have HRAP just buy a PS -> SS adapter.

You can get them from Tototek.com. Also I forgot to mention that it has an wierd button layout. When you have your HRAP connect to the saturn with TTK adapter the button layout will be thispapado wrote:IIRC? Also, anyone know where I can buy a PS2 --> Saturn adaptor?

Yeah I know, the photo is just for reference so you don't get confused with this ugly stick.P.S. That link was to a virtua stick for the PC.
No, the Virtua Stick I recommend looks exactly like the PC version.papado wrote:But that ugly stick was the Virtua Stick you were originally refering to?
edit: this store has it, scroll down the web page.

I just got that exact one from Japan Video Games. (It's in Las Tunas, CA if you can get there.)ArmoredCore wrote:http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-zl- ... -2byy.html

I asked the clerk some things before buying it, and here's what he told me in comparison to HRAP2/3:
Not Sanwa parts, the base is more plastic than metal, HRAP works better long term.
What I found out myself...
Buttons and controls have not so silent clicking sound, it just plugs and plays on the systems it goes on (the driver's there for autofire/button remap), and it's comfortable enough (as long as you're not using the bottom half to play Neo-Geo or something). There's 4 rubber things to hold the bottom on a surface without scratching it (they also cover up 4/6 of the screws used to hold the thing together).
Works well enough for me.
P.S: I also asked about potential modding...he said it wasn't tried. Maybe I'll post pictures of the insides later.

i'll be buying a mayflash any day now because i need a decent pc stick. the clicking sound is normal for ANY japanese style joystick, so that is just something you will have to get used to. the stock stick is a cheap hori-style knockoff and the buttons are basically just bigger game pad buttons . you'll probably want to mod the box with some sanwa or seimitsu parts if you want something nice.

yeah, sanwa obsn-30 snap ins are what i'll be using. you'll need to enlarge the button holes from 28mm to 30mm using a file or dremel. as for the stick, the shell looks deep enough to accomadate sanwa or seimitsu sticks, you'll just need to dremel out the plastic wall around the stock stick. and i'll probably just screw through the cover plate to undermount the joystick.ArmoredCore wrote:is this thing easy to modify? snap on buttons will do?
