Question about flipping a gigantic LCD

So I recently purchased a ... 31" I think LCD widescreen TV from a friend of mine. I know LCDs can be flipped at will without color issues and whatnot, but I'm wondering the best way to go about doing so safely with such a beast, and perhaps more importantly, is it too big? Does it make it harder to see what's going on? Or do you just have to sit further back?

On the first question, the only ideas I've had so far is nailing a board to the top of the chest my current TV sits on, and use it as a brace, then just lean the TV against the wall at a very slight angle (not sure I'd trust this method, but it'd be cheap and easy). Or I could have my dad try and make me some kind of rotatable wooden case... thing... He's a genius when it comes to woodworking, and he could probably figure something out. Perhaps just a simple framework that allows it to stand on two different sides. Unless you guys have some better ideas.

i stole this from someones pic in the "post your ghetto tate setup" thread--i've got a small end table in the corner of my room with a 32" lcd. i put a pair of shoes on the table for the tv to prop up on and lean the tv against the wall.

Heh, very similar to my "nail a board to the wooden chest" idea =P I wonder which would be less dangeorus to the TV. The shoes would certainly be less likely to scratch the side plastic, assuming I cared, which I don't. But I'm wondering what the risk of it getting knocked over is. Could be rather fatal for the TV. I suppose so long as the cord is nice and tucked away, it should be fine.
