WOW, even Pac-Man Championship Edition! Impressive, but I wonder if they'll include any unreleased Namco shmups, or Solvalou.

The museum menu includes more than 20 old-school arcade games that you may remember from your childhood, only these come in high-definition. They include Baraduke, Bosconian, Dig Dug II, Dragon Buster, Dragon Spirit, Galaga '88, Galaxian, Grobda, King & Balloon, Mappy, Metro-Cross, Motos, Pac & Pal, Pac-Mania, Pole Position, Pole Position II, Rally-X, Rolling Thunder, Sky Kid, Sky Kid Deluxe, Super "Pac-Man," and the Tower of Druaga.
Sure hope Namco gets out of their retro rut, and releases different games from their rather large back catalogue. How long do we have to wait for games like Phelios, Rolling Thunder 2, Metal Hawk, Splatterhouse, and the many others that have never gotten on a compilation?
I mean, how many times are they going to re-release the same damn games?

I picked this up last week and, oddly enough, have not been disappointed. I didn't purchase any of the Namco XBLA releases, so it's a relatively good value. Pac-Man C.E. is awesome, while Galaga Legions and Mr. Driller are quite good. The other XBLA releases are interesting (though useless) diversions.
After spending some time with the Pac-Man games I've actually developed some respect for them. Learning how each ghost reacts in any given situation is quite interesting.
As for the non XBLA emulated games: Like most compilations they're hit and miss. Galaga 88 is good, but some just suck.
Also...God, I hate Dig Dug. Dig Dug can die.

In case nobody realized this yet: the disc contains ALL Namco XBLA releases to date. Xevious, New Rally-X, Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man, Dig Dug, Galaga, Pac-Man Championship Edition, Galaga Legions and Mr. Driller Online (did I forget any?) They all come with their Achievements too! Total MSRP of the titles I listed is $60, so if you're interested in them, the disc is totally worth it at $30.
The Museum menu with the other games is mostly forgettable. They claim to include Pac-Man Arrangement, Galaga Arrangement and one other Arrangement; but instead of the fun 2-player games that came in the Namco Classic Collection arcade versions, they included the throwaway titles of the same names introduced in the PSP Namco Museum title a few years back, only blown up to fit the full screen. The other games are all no-frills emulations. Options are minimal, there is no tate, and the games auto-start in one-player mode for you; two-player is not possible!
The XBLA games give the package real value but you can tell it's a quick cash-in, shoddily thrown together. Which stinks. But I bought it anyway...
