Fireteam Bravo 2 is disgusting
This game has been absolutely ruined. This game used to be my main source of fun. It has now been taken over by hackers and kids with cheat devices on custom firmwares. I hate it. Why can't people play fair?

Yeop. This, however, is mostly Sony's fault. For the PS2, they implemented DNAS, which was a bit of an invasive measure that examined your software AND hardware to make sure you weren't using pirated copies (even though it could be bypassed, lol Sony) and cheating devices. However, it is a very passive measure, and once the initial check is done, it stops working. Meaning, stealth codes can be used. There was a lot of cheating going on in MGS 3 online part.
The PSP probably cannot handle a system like that, and even if it did, it would mean a monumental effort for Sony to implement it, knowing it is quite the failure. Sony doesn't seem to care for the online experience as much as MS does, with a "let's launch it and hope it floats" kind of approach to its games, for the purpose of keeping it free.
Your best is to scout for legit players, and stick with them. Sorry, dude.

Don't hold grudges. GET EVEN.
They just updated the version on it too. Listen to this
Hello again!
Well the latest SOCOM: Fireteam Bravo 2 patch is finally available. This patch will bring the game to version 1.50. It’s easy to grab, just jump into the game and choose to play multiplayer using Infrastructure mode. The patch will automatically start to download once you’re connected to the server.
We fixed quite a few issues in this patch. Take a look at the list below to get some more details.
Augmented the Cheat Detection system. (LIES)
Resolved an issue where the player was strafing inappropriately near solid objects.
Resolved an issue that prevented the player from defusing a bomb.
Resolved an issue with voice chat related to dead players.
Resolved an issue with voice chat in the game lobby before gameplay.
Resolved an issue where the white dots on the radar, indicating a downed teammates, was not displaying correctly.
Resolved an issue related to the rank restrictions of multiplayer games.
Resolved an issue that caused some singleplayer missions to load incorrectly after attempting to load them multiple times in a row.
Resolved an issue in the Control Points game which showed a late joining player the incorrect status of the individual control points.
Resolved an issue which caused the player to be booted from the game when grenades where thrown at the end of a round.
Sony is really starting to piss me off. I seriously hope that when Socom Confrontation comes out on PS3 we don't have this shit. Im no fanboy, but the online experience for PS3 is no where near where it should be, or, even where it USED TO be. Anyone remember the good times gaming Socom 1 and Ghost Recon 2? I do.

There won't be any cheating on the PS3 version, it's nowhere near as open to exploits as the PSP. However, Confrontation has it's own problems - i'm currently in the beta test, and i've yet to play a complete match; it takes an age to connect to servers, then even longer to load the actual game, once you have got into a game it's lag city and chances are the server will disconnect before the games finished - I know it's only a beta, but I was in the Warhawk beta too and didn't have half as much trouble.Phil12 wrote:Sony is really starting to piss me off. Also, the PS3's online experience is quite good (on certain games), but some developers seem incapable of writing competant net code and implimenting a basic party system - the original Xbox had the same problem, some games were great online, others were terrible. It wasn't until Microsoft took Climax Games netcode from their awesome MotoGP series and included it in the Xbox SDK that the majority of online Xbox titles became that much more user-friendly.

lol dont even get me started on that. They didn't even send me my code for that beta. But at least they're fixing the game's issues now.
Also, the only good party system I've seen on PS3 has been on COD 4. They're wasn't too much of it on MGS4, which really disappointed me. Half of it would get fixed if they could make the XMB do the same things as the XBL dashboard. It's a shame because I'm still putting a lot of my faith into PS3.
