The woman's face in this video is completely CG:

Pretty impressive. Looks like she got bukkake'd with artificial tanner, though.

Huh? Did you watch the video? Her face in the entire video is CG. I think it looks completely natural. The brown mask-like thing in the picture just shows a step in the process.

Here's how it was made: http://www.image-metrics.com/node/361

I don't know, it looks damn good, but I could tell right away that it wasn't real... and I'm confident that I also would have without prior knowledge.

Same here. Her eyes are the giveaway.

Very impressive though.

I watched the video. I can clearly see where real stops and the CG begins, and the CG is slightly darker than the rest of her skin tone. The tone is pretty much all that's off, though. It's very impressive and natural, movement-wise.

Can anyone get video that's not a tiny ass box? Even when selecting all the fit-to options I can't get anything other than a dinky little box. From what I saw it looked like really bad makeup combined with bad encoding. I'd be interested to see what it looks like full-screen.

Excellent. I honestly thought it's a real person.
But it's a video of real face mapped on a mesh. I'll be more impressed when they make something similar manually.

It's very good, but looks like it still has a way to go. The eyes' movement still doesn't seem natural, and CG artifacts like that will be far more noticeable with a higher picture quality and resolution, as well as a more physiognomically emotional actress.

In other words, don't get excited too soon. :)

I thought this quote was funny:
Image Metrics has proven that reality in facial animation is not only achievable[...]

Lol, uncanny valley. I'm pretty sure my mum would fall for it though.
