Sell me a movie

Post by KindGrind »

Perfume: Story of a Murderer by Tom Tykwer, R1 (USA & Canada). Been looking for it in used bins in several stores and haven't found it so far. Didn't see it new either in the three places I went to. Getting tired of going around -and don't want to go to Ebay- so I thought about asking for it here. I'd pay about 10$+shipping.

I could also do with a German or Spanish HD-DVD of the same movie. I'd obviously pay more for this one... Thanks! :)

Night on the Galactic Railroad R1 DVD. It disappeared with my box of video games.

Tom Twyker: He was the guy who did the Princess and the Warrior, Heaven and Run! Lola Run! wasn't he? I hope you find your DVD :)

Yeah, he was. Three excellent movies :) Perfume's flawed -book was amazing- but it is supported by one of the best narrations, if not the best ever in a movie. John Hurt really rocks. Trademark closeups shots and beautiful images from Tykwer, too. I wish someone bought it and wasn't as interested by it!

The Amazon Marketplace (a great place to score cheap music and dvds btw) has used copies starting at $3.99.

I heard the ending is interesting to say the least. Yet another movie I meant to check out and lost track of.

I saw the movie already, just want to see it again, now that I know what to expect. I was scared the first time I saw it, because I had read -and thoroughly enjoyed- the book. The guy did a great job on the movie, although obviously the on-screen adaptation cannot be as witty and subtle as the book. The overall tone is quite different: all the dramatic structure/events are there, mind you, but the "soul" of it all was kind of lost in translation. Still a very beautiful film :)
